I think he’ll start a lot more than people think. Also I have a very suspicious feeling he’ll play as the most advanced midfielder centrally like he did against United. He can obviously also play wide but I think when Mo and Sadio are fully fit, he’s not getting in ahead of them so with Ox out Klopp may look to him for that forward drive.

Wasn’t the reason we signed Shaqiri was because we needed extra depth to cover the front 3?

Playing him in some games as either no.10 or as an 8 would work against teams that park the bus granted, but it’s a long old season.

Hate it when this happens, we remove our threat which allows the oppo to completely change tack/gain a foothold in the game and throw men forward without fear....

Whilst we wait for them to create an opportunity. Even when it works it’s horrendous to watch!

I watched him in the United game, I was both surprised and impressed. I thought he had an excellent game, and it bodes well for the future. That having been said, it was only one game, and it was against United, who were deffo not at full strength.

He put a lot of running into his 45 minutes and he's got a lot to offer. When LFC signed him I thought he waould be a good addition to the bench. If he continues like he started, I can see Gini and Milner each struggling to get in front of him to get a game.

Early days, I know, but a very promising start.

I think he was bought as back up and to be used primarily to come in when mane and Salah are out. But Klopp would definitely give a player a chance if they force themselves in for a different role. From Klopps early comments I think he has been surprised by shaqiri and might be thinking he has to use him more.

I agree with using him as an impact sub. He has a tenacity and aggression about his play. Can't imagine him coming on and just floating through the game with no impact as many players do. Can't remember the last sub we did that came on and changed the game for us.
