The point is we can hardly afford to lose any of our players but with Ken at the helm (I'm being careful here) and probably strapped for cash. Who knows what will happen. He let a reasonable washing machine go at the last transfer deadline and couldn't replace him. As we managed to stay up by the skin of our teeth, you could say it was good business but boy was it tight.

We just need to consolidate, bring in the players we need and keep the ones we have.

Anyone who does go at the last minute and they will if the offer is right the line will be we have until 31st August when the loan window shuts. Its all very strange this having 2 deadlines. No idea why the championship clubs voted for it just because some Premier league clubs were crying about it last August.

'tis strange having two deadline but with a butty bill of 300k more lawyers dinners and travelling for court Ken does need all the time he can have to juggle the free signing costs and registration fees.
I'll wager by the end of Aug it'll be just free incomings to replace the numbers going either sold or out on loan that'll give us a squad a little bigger than last season.

The Trialist family are staying on for an extra week this year for another closed door job this time against Oldham.
Are we desperately trying to sign Stephen Ireland up or is somebody trying to break him so we don't sign him.

Joe Garner isn't a shoe-in. Ipswich's manager is still looking for another striker and both Millwall and Sheffield United are now looking at Garner. I think that will put us out of the reckoning.

With money tight, we won't be able to offer him the same deal or Ipswich the right money. Paul Hurst is playing a waiting game.

Ken needs to sign up Contactless Payment
Over the weekend the comments again complain of queues running out of stock and no card payment available.
I can't afford to have Jeeves dilly dallying about in queues returning empty handed that's why I always send him to Pret for my Blt on malted brown with a wave of the card there's no excuse for him not being back in time to iron my shorts.

Kens got a bit giddy https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2018/august/a-note-from-the-chairman2/

He got in the "Our squad has a real strength in depth" that's a perfect one as an excuse to ease of the shopping now.
Ken's not going to get out of that compromise deal he signed with the cook way back in Feb 17 as quick as he thinks Lee's not complaining mind Happy Meals all round everyday suits him fine.
Is that also the third or forth "no further comment" since the first one I can't keep track now.

You could well be right but will all the better loan players have been snapped up by then. Clubs want them now to finish those last minute touches to their squads. Other clubs like Ipswich, will want to top up their squad and get rid of the surplus players as soon as they can so that they can claw back some or all of their wages.

Gary Bowyer has left Blackpool that'll be the first of many vacancies this season that PP will no doubt be linked with.

Down one place due to Villa yesterday, two more games tonight while we let the trialist family and walking wounded have a kick about today and there's plenty of done deals around the Championship Ken will be saving himself for going all in on Thursday won't he

Kroenke offers 600m for the 1/3 of Arsenal he doesn't own.
How many Bolton Wanderers can you buy with that sort of dosh that could buy an Island rather than try and get a damaged Ireland for nowt.

Look like camp is joining Birmingham instead of Bolton. Dodged a bullet there because he wasn't very good at Sunderland if I recall. Made a mess of the keeper situation. Effectively paying Amos to sit on mllwalls bench instead of ours. Went he went I thought turner would be prompted but no we have our academy coach sat on the bench instead. None of this makes any sense.

We beat Oldham 4-1 this afternoon. Connor Hall with a hat-trick and one from Dennis Politic
Looks like Ireland was injured he was a no show not a bad way for Connor to have a dig without speaking though was it.

Looking for another striker and we already have one. 2 big lads and 2 smaller poacher strikers seems we have the right balance already.

I don’t know we’re Hall gets is motivation, it’s not from PP that’s for sure, what does this lad have to do to get a chance, lie about his age I suspect.

We could solve the goal keeper shortage by bringing back our own moving up the others and bringing in the mini Jussi. We don't half miss Fred Barber but I understand he won't be for returning just yet.

We dropped another place to 6th what we need is our first home win of the season on the back of the opening day away win it'll be good for the troops moral and Ken's notes you never know it might sell another season ticket.
After the trouble CYL is having with a work permit I've decided if CYL's taxes and money isn't good enough for gov.uk then they won't want mine I've boycotted the TV licence and UK taxes in protest which put a smile on my old dad's face.

Where you are pasty you won't need one. neither do I or Golden.

Back to business, According to PP, we still need four players and we have today and tomorrow for signing any permanent players. After that, it's the loan market.

I share the frustration of other members of the forum that PP has not got the faith in Conner Hall to give him a chance. As far as bringing our young players on, his attitude stinks. If he still needs to be brought on slowly, a place in the squad would be the best option where he can play in cup games until PP realises that he's good enough if not in his eyes old enough.

There's no signs of a queue forming at the uobs new player entrance this morning in fact I think Darren tried to get in that way and found it double locked with a something wedged behind it.

Maybe Ken has decided after beating WBA that we are A-OK until the next transfer window comes around. That would leave us in a bit of a pickle. Especially in the goalkeeping spot. Still, he would save a few bob. He doesn't mind taking risks if money is involved.
