and in 4 years when the contract ends he will still be faster than Slimani .

A little surprising in some ways given his age, but...

- I've thought for some time that, as a late bloomer, his physical abilities may last longer as long as he stays relatively injury-free.
- His development since reaching the Prem has been fantastic and, as a one-touch finisher, offers much more than being just a pace merchant.

Excellent news to secure a proven, regular Premier League goalscorer for 4 years. At least half the rest of the league would sell their granny for that.

That's a fresh signing for the player and the team. Vardy is now a proven 20+ striker who's goals alone could assure survival and very good high table finishes. Vardy committing his career to Leicester would stabilise other squad members mindsets about the future and Leicester's ambition. Very good signing

Can we get better the Vardy in the transfer market right now?

I’d say not. As people have said, he’s shown he has a lot more to his game than pace and is a proven 20 goal a season premier league striker.

Therefore this is a good signing.

Hopefully Nacho takes over that mantle over the next 2 seasons and we’re less reliant on Vardy so he can play the Kevin’s phillips role Dublin suggests.

I’d like to see a bit of rotation between them this year if we don’t play a front 2.

Slightly surprised about the length of the deal but not unhappy with it.

I think what the club have done with the length of the deal is secured Vardy's commitment to the club essentially for the rest of his career. If it winds up short by a year or two, we'll still have had two or three more seasons of having a proven Premier League goalscorer and fans' favourite on our books while the owners (hopefully) see the continued development of their longer term plans. They will likely see the last year or so of that contract as a perfectly reasonable investment and insurance measure. If it turns out Vardy's still sticking the ball away regularly around Christmas 2021 then that's a bonus.
