He'll get off most likely on some trumped up technicality like he didn't swing a punch hard enough and at the right angle of 76 degrees for it to constitute jail time. So he'll probably get a fine as well as a few hours community service and be ordered to pay a pack of Haribos.
He should be sent down for minimum 3 months though. The fact he's a pro Cricketer shouldn't come into it. Athletes and famous people shouldn't be exempt from the law.

That was self defence
That DJ deserved it - he wasn't playing Whitney Houston like Stevie wanted.
Sounds like you've only heard or referred to the prosecution case.
It seems to me highly unlikely that he'll go to jail. We'll see.

I don’t get why Hales hasn’t been called as a witness??

Agree with this. I'd be hugely surprised if he faced any jail time.
He will be back in the England squad for the 4th test.

Unless Woakes crashes anther ton and Curran takes 5 wickets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
May not make the XI but I'd be surprised if he wasn't in the squad. Will probably take Porter's place and then Root and Bayliss can decide who to pick on the day.
So a waste of tax payers money
So the jury saw it as just a normal boys night out.
Astonishing!

Its odd that we didn't hear from the two key witnesses to what happened but oh well, it's all done now and Stokes will be back in for the rest of the series.
As soon as the prosecution's closing statement went along the lines of "It started as self-defence, But...", they were in trouble. The jury will have heard: "So you're saying it /was/ self defence then...?"
