I think he has the quality for sure, but what is nice to see is that he doesn't get a start out of default, top players should raise their game and fight for the spot, which, can only be helpful to the team.

He was awful in the first half but excellent in the second half.

Els.. both statements are correct oddly enough... Leeds were suberb in the first half, Jansson not great, but Leeds were't that great in the 2nd, Jansson good - I guess to be fair if your defender played well, it means you've been under it a bit.

He was excellent second half, this game was essentially preseason for him.

In most people's minds he is our number one CB he should be knocking on the door but doesn't appear to be.
Bera is a specialist RB after all and given there is a lack of cover it concerns me.

No worries over Pontus for me. First game back and wasn't overly troubled. He'll be fine.

He's played one game....

He won't be back in the side unless Cooper or Berardi see red or get injured. So far, those two have collected Afobe, Waghorn and Lawrence.

Shaugnessy gonna be our Phillips cover, I reckon.

Pontus looked ok. Got better as the match went on.

Berardi's size still worries me.

Suspect we will sign a CB on loan though

Berardi can't play CB when we face hoofball teams like Millwall, they will just lob the ball into our box for 90 mins from everywhere, we won't be able to deal with it.

Need Pontus up to speed and starting most games IMO.

Berardi can't be a long term solution at centre back.

Thought Pontus did a lot right in the game. Calm down and the mistakes he made are understandable given first game in a long time.
That's the reason why he has not been starting in the league until he gets match fitness.

Berardi done a lot better aerially than I expected. Handled any long balls to Afobe well and competed for headers with Waghorn.

Struggled against Crouch but so would most people.

Afobe isn't a target man and Waghorn isn't tall, but agree he did better than expected in the air.

Some teams strength is ability to out muscle in the air and can't Berardi winning much as a CB, against those teams.

Berardi has done very well at centreback, but he is a weak point. Not sure what Bielsa is thinking, but I'd expect Pontus to be back in the 11 once his fitness is up.

He was making some bad choices with passing in the first half, he'll improve.
