You improved last season and went from fourth to fourth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And also went from no European football to champions league finalists Daz.

We finished 4th without having to deal with any European football and the next season had the longest possible stint in Europe you can have and finished in the same position. That is improving.

I agree, I said you improved, but not significantly. Not seeing anything to suggest that’ll be too dissimilar this season. You’ll be nowhere near City.

True but we had a rather impressive European run as well so definite improvement.

If you say so. I disagree massively though.

As you yourself said, city simply won’t be as good this season as last, it’s not attainable really.

We’ve massively strengthened our spine and have a settled squad who play the way Klopp needs them to. I think it’s going to be us and city and then a large gap back to probably Chelsea.

“Not seeing anything to suggest that’ll be too dissimilar this season.”

Interesting statement after 1 game, particularly given we won 4-0 and looked very impressive.

They won’t be as good, but they’ll be double figures in front of the rest again I reckon. Think you’ll be scrapping with the rest of us in and around 2nd-5th. Cup runs may play a part on where we all finish.

posted on 15/8/18

Think we’ll go out of the cups, bar the CL relatively early.

Think we have a strong enough squad to compete with them this season personally.

posted on 15/8/18

I don’t think you’ve improved significantly enough to trouble City in a league campaign.

You are deluded then.

Liverpools squad isnt at Citys level but De Bruyne will be a big miss. The guys unreal.

Liverpools bench thought, compared to even last year, has improved massively.

I still think if they get injuries at CB or LB they are in trouble, and I think Firminio not getting injured is also key.

With Shaq, Salah, Mane and maybe even a fit Sturridge they could maybe still score goals in FIrminioins absence but defensively LFC still need a CB/LB option better than Matip/Lovren & Moreno

City arent as strong without DeBruyne but tbh I still think it takes a team playing their best and them playing bad, or a top 6 team, to beat em without him.

Gonna be interesting.

Who nobbled him?

Anyone know yet?

A lot will be hoping it's Raheem Sterling I imagine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?

Because he's the media's favourite punch bag.

10 points behind would be considerably closer but it’s still miles behind

Haven’t changed your mind yet Daz?

posted on 16/12/18

No, I think you’ll fall away second half of the season. Credit where it’s due, you’ve done brilliantly to be up there with them at this point.

posted on 16/12/18

I don’t think we will myself, we’ve only just started to get out of 2nd gear lately.

Having said that a couple of injuries and it all changes

posted on 16/12/18

I think this is your gear this season. But it’s been highly effective so far due to your defence.

posted on 16/12/18

We shall see. We didn’t really hit our stride till mid December last year either.

In fact our best attacking football came once coutinho was sold. So there is still time for us to shift through the gears.

How soon before you think Jose is removed?

posted on 16/12/18

What went before doesn’t always follow, though. It’s difficult to flip to that level and maintain it. And your defence meant the need to score so many forced the issue with the attack, that’s not so much the case now.

Mourinho will go when top four is mathematically gone.

posted on 16/12/18

It’s virtially gone now. 11 points adrift of Chelsea already.

19 behind us ffs. That’s got to make the hierarchy at united take some notice surely? 17 games gone and your 19 points off top. That’s inexcusable for united.

Gone by the end of January is my thoughts

posted on 16/12/18

When it’s mathematically gone it reduces Mourinho’s pay off. Same thing happend with Moyes and Van Gaal. Highly likely it will be the same with Mourinho. Which at this rate will be about March/April time.
