Agree with Fellaini, there will be alot of balls in the box for him to deal with.

Lindeloff over Bailly? I dont know.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Fellaini as the most advanced of our midfielders with us playing slightly longer and running off his lay offs. A bit depressing really but Fellaini does give an outlet against teams that press.

On its own as a tactic then it wouldn't be the worst but we should be able to (with all due respect) go to Burnley and play our own game expecting to win.

Great thought, but one question...

What is ‘our own game?’

3rd season in and £350m spent and I don’t actually know. Looking to at the line ups/formations changing drastically every week, neither does our manager.

Confident (don’t know why I just am) of the win today and a better performance, the players have to dig deep they won’t be enjoying this anymore than we are.

By our own game I mean going there and making them worry about how we set up. Rather than vice versa which we see too often for my liking. I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of what we saw during the first half of the Spurs game where we had good energy (if not quite enough quality) and purpose.

I just feel today could well be a slog the way we set up but we'll see how it goes.

As Diafol says, you never truly know how a game will pan out based on the lineup.

But I called it in the thread... Fellaini starts.

Pereira completely dropped again and Herrera can only get in the team as a makeshift RCB it seems (despite playing most of preseason and looking sharp).

I'm going to suggest that Fellaini is in the team to (at least in JM's mind) compensate for Lindelof defensively at set plays.

Such is the way I'm confused with how we line up at times I wouldn't be surprised to see Fellaini in the back four/five at some stage this season!

If you are Burnley you stick Chris Wood right on Lindelof. He will bully him all afternoon. People say Bailly has been poor. He had 1 poor game ffs. He was very good against Leicester and saved Lindelofs ass a few times

Kung Fu, I bet admin fails to make this thread live.

There is some kind of bias taking place.

Fellaini and Lindelof.

I'm sure there's a game plan at foot, it's not just about picking the same 11 for every game. Sir Alex used to drop favoured players to implement a game plan too.

Jose dropping Andreas is the last straw. We have a player with real quality and Jose drops him for Fellaini. It's sending a poor message to the young players. Perreira showed promise but wasn't suited for a DCM role, so Jose moves on and back to his familiar ways. I really think Giggs would be doing a better job with team formation and would not be alienating players. Jose is so wrapped up in his own myth he's lost touch with reality - reminds me of Hitler after 1943 and he has to be removed.

Anti-Woodward banner to be flown over Turf Moor before kick off. lol

To be fair we have had poor transfers for a while and we couldn't get the players we wanted.

It really is remarkable that there is an anti woodward banner to be flown over the stadium on our first game of the season given that we came second last season.

It just feels very bizarre.

"reminds me of Hitler after 1943 and he has to be removed."....

Where were your whereabouts between 1938-45?.....

You will not find a fan who sees more talent in Fellaini than Pereira or Herrera or in Lingard than Martial or Rashford but Jose does.

We overpaid for players since he came and sold top players for cheap lol.

Mourinho also said we didn't get our targets although we bought badly under him as well.
