Old Trafford is a sell out for Saturday's game so the young Wolves team will have the experience of playing before 74,994 people. Lets hope they rise to the occasion. If they play as well as Saturday they will give Utd a real run for their money

I agree with that Sunshine, we are not a team that focuses on any single player for our goals, and it certainly makes it hard for the defending team.

But a player like Aguero with his finishing could make a huge difference, and is probably the next step we need to make in our pursuit of the top places.

I actually think Wolves are underated, outside of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City I don't see anyone any better than us, certainly no one to fear.

Asking people where we will finish, inevitably tenth is the number they come up with, a safe number, but I think Wolves are better than that.

Aguero would be great of course, and Hazard, maybe Kane or Salah. We aren't a club that can attract the very best. But the way the club is growing we maybe aren't that far away.

This is our first season back in the top flight and our number one goal is to maintain our status in this league, hopefully in the top half.

If we can gradually progress, then better players will be coming in and we'll be able to attract the likes of Aguero and others.

Remember, Fosun wanted promotion within 3 years. Nuno did it in 2. It's going to be a slow progress, but I feel sure, if we can keep our better players and improve as the seasons go on, I hope we could be in Europe within 2 or 3 years. If Burnley can do it, surely we can.

I think you are underestimating just how good this Wolves side is Sunshine, to be fair a lot of people are.

I think we will surprise people this year, and I really think maintaining our place in the Prem is pretty much certain already.

Get angry hearing folk talk of survival being the aim, it certainly isn't Fosuns aim this season.

I said last season that a top half finish is what we are aiming for and that seventh is a real possibility and have seen nothing to suggest that isn't still the aim.

Last word on strikers, no doubt at all Fosun wanted another and if Jimenez gets injured we will understand why.

Last word on the strikers. Its great that we have a bench with players that can come on and make a difference. Last game Traore and Bonatini came on and won the game for us at West Ham. On Saturday when it was starting to look like Burnley might push for an unjust equaliser we bought the same guys on and we could easily have scored 4 in the last 5 minutes. Great to see

posted on 17/9/18

Other than Traore we don't have anybody currently on the bench to change a game if we are trailing, Bonatini is a Jimenez light and you certainly won't be thinking we are gonna get back into it with his introduction.

The bench will look better when Cav returns though but it is still definitely light of attacking options to mix it up.

Why does there have to be a last word, this isn't a dictatorship and I will have my say

I agree with Wolfie to a point, as I mentioned earlier we need the other forwards and WBs to start being more clinical in front of goal. But, if we get the chance to bring in someone in January, as further back up or an upgrade to existing frontmen, why wouldn't we?

You could argue that the front three are interchangeable, Jota, Cav & Costa have had a go but we've looked better as a unit when we've had Jiminez & Bonatini in that role. As well as a mobile unit that can link play and drag defenders around, the guy needs to be a target man too. I'd be happy with a bit more cover for that role to be honest even if Bona does eventually rediscover where the goals are.

Unbelievable, the last word had been spoken so your comment is struck from the records.

I think our other forwards and WBs need to start being more clinical as it goes.

I do think having a centre forward as good as Jiminez has improved our forward line. Playing Costa, Jota and Cavaleiro worked well at times last season but I don't think Jota is at his best in the central position and the other two are just not suited to it and neither would be Traore. Personally I have confidence in Bonatini filling the role well if Jiminez were injured

Like Nuno, I have faith in Bonatini. Like Nuno, I know he can score goals. Strikers, like footballers in any position, lose their impetus for any number of reasons but often come back after a lean spell stronger and better than they were before.
A classic example is Joe Hart who has been utter crap for about 3 years. Yesterday we saw the Joe Hart who was selected as the England No 1 keeper. Jeez, he was like a feckin octopus with arms and legs seemingly to spare.

As Spangles says, there is more to being a striker than just scoring goals, however, scoring goals is a the primary function of a striker.
Like Nuno, I know that Bonatini can score goals, but like Nuno, I know that if he is not finding the net regularly by January, he will be replaced.

Halfy will have the last word, but not until the threadsters have basked in glory of another three points. Next weeks game takes us to OT and I can honestly say that we have nothing to fear, not that I think we’ll win but at least we have a team that can compete !

As well as his speed, the physique of Traore is amazing. Not quite Elokobi but not far off. Yet I was shocked to read him quoted as saying he never uses weights. What would he look like if he did?

Just for the record, Burnley who finished 7th last season and qualified for Europe, only scored 35 goals from their 38 matches and had a -3 GD.

Jumilla lost 0-2 yesterday and of the 9 players we have out on loan there, only Delandes and Wilson started. Now I don't expect all nine to feature, but Jack Ruddy isn't even on the bench and is third choice goalkeeper. At least he played for the first team at Ayr last season.

I'm sure they'd benefit more by being loaned out to clubs in the UK.

Exactly and everyone knew they were not anywhere near as good as their position suggested, they just highlighted the mediocrity outside the top six in the premier league.
