Bielsa on learning English

"It is a priority for me to learn English. What I am going to saw doesn't mean that is isn't necessary to speak English. What I can tell you is that the less you speak the better you are as a head coach because you communicate not through words but actions in training. When you see that the team is assimilating a habit it's not because you talk a lot. It's because you did practical facts."

That's Marcelo finished...

Cheers. I'll stop doing these when Bielsa turns into your average cliche-talking, excuse-making, disingenuous Championship manager.

I'm still enjoying these.

Certainly is entertaining and interesting.
Not too managers you can say that about.

This could be a very long-term position!

Cheers, Sol.

Bielsa actually gives insightful answers. Doesn't try to bluff or dodge questions. Can't actually think of another manager like him.

Thank you Sol.

It's true that Bielsa is certainly more thoughtful in his answers than the average cliche-ridden coach of today but he does have experience of difficulties in his relationships with the media while managing other clubs.

It seems to me like he is trying to manage all the sound and fury being generated by our miraculous transformation at his hands very carefully, almost like a boxer sparring defensively. Maybe its the differences in language and culture, maybe he's just a very unassuming and modest sort of person?

So, has Radrizzani disappeared? What about Orta? Does anyone know if they've said anything about our success? They must be over the moon at this stage...but they seem to be keeping a low profile.

I think he's a highly intelligent individual and clearly nobody's fool.
Every answer appears to be based on a considered opinion and even though he uses an interpreter, his message is not lost.
Despite the language barrier he is clearly getting his message across to the players and on the evidence so far, they are sweating buckets for him.

Jaz, was speaking to Popey the other day, he was saying Kinnear has gone completely off radar, they are struggling to get any air time with him.

I hate listening to Mangers give the usual status quo , all the cliques, all the excuses, all the bullsheet

I don’t listen to any off it, haven’t for years

This guy is different.

Let’s not bull, we’ve one of the best coaches in the world, top ten easily.

Only thing that will stop us, is the quality of players.

I don’t think it will

They've got it spot on!

Hire someone to do a job, he does it well, allow him to get on with it and STAY OUT OF THE WAY!

Marching on Together!!!

and that's what its all about!!

Thanks Sol - much appreciated threads!

One point of interest for me when I had a peek at the live presser today was that we've now got a sponsorship deal going for the press conference video feeds! (President Energy?)

Bielsa is TV gold!

Found what he said about the benefits of international coaching really interesting. I wonder what some of the other managers who have transitioned from international management back to club management would say about it.

He certainly has transformed the style of playing and the philosophy of the club in a very short period of time.

Kinnear was interviewed on the radio on Tuesday, but more because he "happened to be there" is my impression - it was pretty adhoc from the sound of it.

The whole business about club staff talking to the media really has never bothered me that much. It's the talking on the pitch, and the seemingly sage words from the coach, that really interest me. Oh and Noel Whelan - he's a great listen, before and after the match.

Vof they’ve been trying to speak to him for a while but without success it was them who raised it not me.

Not disagreeing with you Jonty ..... his chat on Tuesday, as mentioned above, appeared to be quite opportune rather than planned.

Maybe AK has been told to keep out of the limelight wherever poss?

A sign of a successful club is exactly that VOF, the team does the talking on the pitch with the manager/head coach fulfilling his obligations to the media.

No reason to involve anyone else, let's face it, they've all got their own respective duties to fulfil in order to get Leeds United on track on and off the pitch.

I believe we have more work to do in the area of commercial opportunities, match day experiences and ticket prices.

Bielsa is priming us for the Premier League, we need a Premier League infrastructure to support that.

Vof, was noticeable enough for press to notice it.

Not unhappy with that as whatever he says is so spinny,
