You lot are hilarious!!! Please show me where the poster mentions Liverpool AT ALL?!! Real Madrid have won the CL 3 years running. Barcelona have a great record in the competition. Man City have been no where near winning it. Therefore its a reasonable QUESTION to ask why they are favorites.
That's NOT saying they wont or cant win it. Its also not saying i agree with the poster, just that its a reasonable question for debate (on a DEBATING site!!).

This article is just the OP showing how dumb he is.
He thinks Liverpool should be favourites because they came 2nd last season and got rid of Karius? Or because Liverpool have more CL prestige than City?
Utd and Chelsea have more PL prestige than 'pool, but Liverpool still started ahead of them in the odds.
Bookies don't use prestige or history. The first thing they'd look at is form; City's has been better than anyone else's in Europe last season. Then they look at groups. City drew an easy group, meaning in cold hard calculative terms they have a better percentage chance of making the ko stages than Liverpool who drew a harder group, and therefore at this stage a better opportunity to win it. It's really that simple. If Liverpool get to the KO stages and draw CabDriver FC and City get there and draw Barcelona, then Liverpools odds will shorten and City's will lengthen - again, simple.
The amount of dough coming in also affects odds a bit. Presumably City have been more heavily backed.

Don’t see why the the likes of Barca or Bayern wouldn’t be better odds than City considering they won their respective leagues and have got better CL pedigree than City. Can understand Real not being favourites having just lost Ronaldo and changed manager.

Since you’ve won it in 2005 you’ve been runner-up twice and made 1 or 2 semi finals. In that time...
Barca have won it 4 times
Real Madrid have won it 4 times
Bayern have won it once and reached multiple semi finals
Atleti have been runners up twice and reached a couple of semi finals
Man United have won it once and been runners up twice
Juventus have been runners up twice
That’s just a few off the top of my head. Using the OP’s logic, you shouldn’t be fourth favourites to win the CL.
