Weird thing was he didn’t look any of those things at Juve and Madrid. It really is Torres all over again.

Right but Wahl’s a Chelsea fan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's a matter of some debate!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not if you look at his posting history.

Sideshow knows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Darren, I don't know what he is but he's no Chelsea fan.

Would any fan, of any team, worth his salt, want his team to lose in the FA Cup final just so his hero manager could waltz off with the cup and lid?

can't say I really saw him, only thing I saw was his tap in in the CL

If it got the desired reaction on a faceless internet forum, of course. This is literally the whole point of the persona. Thought you’d see through that, Brummie.

He looked really good, Nick. Even when he didn’t score he played well in many games I saw him for both clubs.

As I mentioned earlier, I had reservations over him being able to regularly lead the line when we went for him as it was something he hadn’t proven capable of. But the talent as a striker, especially his all round game, was good and something that made the signing potentially a good one and one I favoured over Lukaku.

But Lukaku has proven to be the more reliable goal scorer and he’s actually been more impressive as an all round performer as well, even if it’s still an area I think he needs to improve.

Sort of what I was alluding to Darren, no true fan would do that.

Thought you'd have seen that!!

Stop being so damned polite Darren!

That’s a true fan. He doesn’t let tribalism get in the way of his true loves: Chelsea and Mourinho.

Saw Tammy Welbeck scored for Villa the other day, Brummie. You must be a bit conflicted.

Darren guy, why are you talking shiiit about me? Like I'm so confused, sometimes we're bros, and sometimes you're like this, like wtf?

Tammy Welbeck - is this someone I'm supposed to have heard of before!

Sounds like a bit of a love triangle going on here Darren - Wahl, Jose and you!

Not from the years prior to Mourinho being Chelsea manager, but you weren’t on here so wouldn’t know.

Sideshow, he looked decent at Monaco, though his lack of technical ability was evident. Amazing how bad he was for you guys.

Gatusso was saying the other week he’s essentially having to completely recoach him, trying to teach him not to just go chasing after the ball. He’s a very thick footballer.

I think Monaco’s high octane style made him look better than he was. Always thought Fabinho was the more impressive of the two anyway.

You got a link or a username to his account back then? Because any of Erik's old accounts that have been linked on here have been riddled with Pro United and anti Chelsea articles.

That was a worrying performance I have to admit. It gets thrown around too readily regarding him but that WAS a Torres performance - a ghost on the pitch looking haunted in the process.

For me as it stands without improvement he should be offloaded before the start of next season, but if performances like that become a regularity (like they did for Torres) we might have to hunt for strikers in January.

Was one of those performances where if I was Sarri I'd start experimenting with Hazard as a false 9 (Mertens style) just to make sure that is an option giving us a third striking choice.

I have said it countless times....the answer was and still is at Leicester...but we've passed the opportunity by now, and he'll just stagnate into bottom six oblivion

Vardy would have been good but we've not even considered him.

I hope we sign Icardi in the summer, that volley vs Spurs convinced me even more

Icardi is the right age too, he's 25 so will get better.

With Dzeko and Cavani, they're short term answers at best.

Not sure Icardi will leave though, he's Inter's captain and will probably stay loyal

Yeah he feels like a bit of a Diego Costa, has moments of craziness in him.

He's a difficult character though which may be what is putting some clubs off.
----------------------------------------------------------
This. We have a very temperamental squad right now, we got rid of Costa & Courtois which helps and there's a risk Icardi could just invite problems back in. Quality player though.

Just my opinion, but for the money we'd have to shell out on Icardi we might as well pay that little bit extra and try for Dybala instead. He's got more in his locker than Icardi as a complete forward and by the looks of it now is the time to pounce for him as CR7 has made his position problematic.

I'd happily take Icardi next summer and I think he's one that Sarri would very much like to have at the club. Just a question of whether the club will pay the huge sum required.

We're clearly not happy as a club unless we have flop Spanish striker to endlessly persevere with. Surprised it wasn't us who signed Soldado instead of Spudds.
