Or drama come to think of it, or RE.
But you don’t mind watching drama ?

Not really. I’m not saying drama should be stopped teaching, but I think sone mathematics like anything other than very basic algebra and calculus should be an opt in class, rather than cirriculum.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. The greated beans were famously warm and welcoming.
My youngest goes to a CofE primary school, but they don't push it at all. They learn about different religions, I haven't got a problem at all with any of it.
The fact you know about RE Algebra and Pythagoras has made you a better person. Thats of you took it all in rather than stare out of the window.
Its called a general education.

Indeed, I see you skipped English grammar in your general education.
But I agree, a general education should deliver a foundation, with the next levels being more opt in.

I enjoyed algebra and maths in general. Actually, I was very good at Maths. Didn’t really fancy a career in teaching, but it came very handy in my further education.
It would have been handy to learn things like money management, growing seasonal produce, or how to feed yourself properly. They could easily sandwich an hour in between on Nietzsche to cover all bases.

I can’t say I ever consciously use it for anything. Hated maths and was never good at it, although it was more interesting in a technical design class I did st school which was engineering focussed.

Could rewrite a Shakespeare play to include those teachings.
Growing seasonal produce ffs if they had me put in the rain trying to grow marrows I could buy at Tesco and not eat anyway instead of RE I’d be pįssed

Transferable skills. Would of saved a lot of money than buying 10 bags as a teenager
Schools should cancel all RE lessons and ask the likes of the Pope to ask god to download all religious information into all babies when born.
If god won't do that then it's then obvious he/she doesn't want us to know.

God's quite old so probably isn't very computer literate. He probably still reads the daily news on tablets of stone.
However, he could confirm/dispel all the b*llocks said/written by putting in a long overdue personal appearance.
It's not about believing fairies in the sky or literally the words of religious stories but the messages the stories represent and the debate to be had about how this can be reflected in modern life. In most case there is no one perfect or right answer.
The downside is when these messages are misrepresented and used as justification for evil agendas.

2,000 different gods roughly said to have been worshiped on this planet since the beginning of time.
I believe in just one less god than every religious person on the planet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What about polytheists?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from them weirdos.Don't think they represent a very large group though. Don't think I know any.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Christians who believe in the Devil are technically polytheists assuming they also believe their God is both omnipotent and benevolent.
Without religion we wouldn't be where we are today to be honest.
Not that I'm religious or anything but maybe some people should start doing some research on English history.
I don't agree that these things should be 'force fed' to children. The best thing would be to make all kids aware of other cultures and religions so that the future generations can be more accepting of each other and not so divided like how they were in the past and still are today in many places.
I agree with people who say that religion is good, but then again I totally understand those that say religion is bad. Please like me.
