Villa’s love in with Steve Bruce continues I see. One fan even gifted him a free cabbage last night
Palace have won three games so far this season, all away. Yet to score at Selhurst Park this season. If we give Zaha a good kicking early on, they might not score this weekend either
Bennett and Doc will keep Zaha quiet. Once RB has roughed him up a bit and Doc has stuck the nut on him, he'll go missing for the rest of the game.
Would be interested to know who the ref is going to be on Saturday, one of them is going to be weak enough one of these days to succumb to the pressure and send someone off for daring to tackle Zaha.
Not directly related but did anyone see the Valencia dude who got hit by the ball (as in the ball hit his leg, to be clear), and was lying on the ground convulsing as if he was about to breathe his last? Ref bought it and stopped play with United on the attack (which, ok was funny but if it was your team you'd be dekcuf off). The guy was holding one leg like it was broken, seconds later same leg was being waved around in the air and the other being held like it was about to drop off. This was repeated between alternate limbs for a good minute, accompanied by repeated convulsion of the torso. Interestingly, the commentators said he was being "clever".
Damari Gray was clearly seriously injured last Tuesday at the Molineux and it was not nice to see him being taken away on a stretcher, which makes the antics of those who seek to use these "clever" tactics to their advantage even more deplorable.
Unbelievably this now seems to be an accepted part of the game, but sure the time has come for this to be clamped down on and eradicated from the game. Its an utter farce.
Busted his knee I think Goldie !
I do think more punishments needed to be handed out after the game. The ref cant be expected to see everything and inevitably they will sometimes be conned. But after the game when video evidence shows clearly that a player has dived or faked an injury it should be possible to penalise them after the event. And it should work in the opposite way too when a player is incorrectly booked or sent off, all of those incidents should be reviewed to see if the card was fair.
The defence that often seems to be trundled out is that it undermines a referee to have decisions subsequently changed. Don't subscribe to that at all. All that matters is that ultimately justice is seen to be done.

Totally agree.
Refs should be able to distinguish though that if a player is writhing around and able to move"injured" limbs like a samurai wielding a sword, there's probably feck all wrong with him.
Thing is the media, mainly made up these days of former players, condone this behaviour. They would be hypocrites not to I guess given most of them have been as guilty.
Not listened to it myself but read on Twitter earlier that some villa doughnut said that they are one of the few clubs that could realistically tempt Fergie out of retirement. Now this could confirm one of two lines of thought on this matter:
1. They're just fans of other clubs who phone in to make villa fans appear deluded fools.
2. Most villa fans are deluded fools who have fully bought in to the rhetoric.
Which one is your money one?
2
Was with a Villa Fan the other week, he was telling me that technically they are the richest club in the world but their owner can’t get his money out of China ?!?
Should be an attractive job for someone. Always good to take over a club that’s struggling cause the only way should be up. And now they are more stable financially they should get back on track soon. The next managerial appointment is a big one for them though. If they make a bad choice they could be out of the top flight for quite a while
Mendes evidently putting forward the Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca to Villa. It’s good he is helping them out and as long as they get managers and players not quite as good as us, who cares
great news for jonny, called up to the spain squad
