PS Store Prices

I agree , the prices on there are ridiculous. Want they charging £80 for FIFA ultimate edition?

Facking day light robbery. Saying that they do have the odd bargains on there . I got Hello Neighbor,GTA 5, Hellblade and something else for $50 the other month.

It is disappointing and I agree it should be cheaper to download, but it is my understanding that it is retail that demand prices are kept at retail price, so not to affect their business.

Sony do still need retail to stock their games, and while that remains so, they will not accept Sony undermining sales by selling games cheaper online.

There is some sense to it, but it sucks.

Yeah I did get South Park the fractured but whole the other day for 14.00.

However I was hoping God of War may have came down in price as it’s been out a while but still £50.00!

I think consoles will go digitally eventually although maybe not in the long term. Then I think prices will come down.

I’m also thinking of giving PS now a go. Have you tried that Amiga? Sounds a good concept, almost like a Netflix service for games. I had a quick ganders the other day and there’s mainly PS 3 games on there although I imagine if it gets more popular it may start on PS 4 games

Saying that, there’s several old games on the ps now I wouldn’t mind playing again especially fallout New Vegas. Plus I’m really into the yakuza series since the prequel and the remastered of the first two games along with yakuza 6. I saw they had yakuza 3 and 5 on there so very tempting

Amiga: does PS4 vr work on the non PS4 pro? The original one? And is it worth getting? Are ganesany good- wipeout for instance?

posted on 2/10/18

Sorry Gunner not something I have ever tried so can't really comment. for that reason if you do give it a go I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Oh BTW, you will love God Of War, although I must admit, of the recent releases Detroit was my favourite, followed by Spiderman, then God of War.

But all great games.

So much to catch up on! God of War, Spiderman, the forty coming red dead redemption. The new Assassins creed has got some decent reviews in aswell

PSVR will work with any PS4, the Pro does give some benefit, but many probably won't notice much difference.

The new PSVR has a HDMI passthrough, so if you have a 4k tv, you dont need to swap HDMI cables between PSVR and your TV (hope that makes sense)

I have a Pro and an original PSVR, and works fine

As for games I find them to be very personal especially in VR, But there are some great experiences to be had.

Wipeout is great in VR, and if you are a Wipeout fan I would definitely recommend it. But my favourite experience so far is still a launch title, Batman, but I have had a great time with Headmaster (seems basic, but great fun (especially with mates)

Super Hot is another great title, My friend at work has borrowed Resident Evil from me, He can't cope playing it in VR

To be honest I could go on and on, If you have anything specific to ask, I'll try and help.

Great stuff-thanks Amiga

Wipeout sounded interested as I like the idea of being thrown around virtually like on a rollercoaster, the madder the better. Batman huh? I’ll check that out, I’ve not bought it yet but I’m very tempted in vr, it does sound like it could be an interesting new frontier-but I guess the game have to be there, so I hope they are still developing strongly and it doesn’t go down the route of the Xbox motion controller thing (I can’t remember the name!)

Cheers

You are thinking of Kinect, and trust me unlike Kinect VR is here to stay.

Sony are working on new VR hardware for PS5, which is being developed with VR in mind (apparently)

Also, a few warnings, Be careful of motion sickness, being thrown around sounds like fun, but if you have a weak stomach, you will soon change your mind.

Also. Wipeout's in fact all PSVR games default setting is
set for comfort, so you have to mess around in the games settings to get the full experience.

Batman is not everybody's cup of tea, basically a detective story, I will recommend Super Hot, simple but fun, and Astro Bot has been getting some great reviews.

Also, I would highly recommend buying the move controler's, they can really add to the experience.

posted on 2/10/18

Oh I better add, you need the Move controllers for Super Hot.

Batman is definitely better if played with them too.

Excellent stuff Amiga. Batman looks worth it for the price alone, bargain. I’m pretty motion sickness resilient if rollercoasters are anything to go by, so I think Maddest settings possible then maybe dialled back.

It’s also interesting to see the likes of the bbc doing the occasional footy match in vr like at the World Cup too, so non games aside it looks like it could be fun.

Noted on controllers-I read your review if super hot sounds great.

Would have loved to play alien isolation in vr

Oh Baz, I had better mention that Batman isn't the longest of games, in fact it's pretty short.

Short but sweet

Yup/ read it takes about 90 mins, but not too bad as it’s not expensive.

Aye For An Aye, it really isn't that simple.

Developing a AAA game is a mammoth task, involving 100's of developers, actors, Musicians etc.

It is a huge gamble, and if a game fails it could easily see the development studio fail too.

There were days when games could be programmed by an individual in his bedroom, nowadays they are called indie, and can be picked up cheap.

If gamer's want games like The Last Of Us two, then £60 is probably the minimum they should pay.either that or the games won't be made.

Still waiting for God of War to reduce
Was £35 in CEX which ain’t too bad. Spider-Man was £65 in Sainsbury’s. Those caaants are still selling the likes of GTA5 at £50

Will pay whatever for Red Dead tbh.
