you could have said Spurs, they play at a soulless Wembley

Laugh all you like at Spurs at Wembley, The delays, The cheeseroom, Prices etc... that's all fair game but when that place finally opens, its gonna put a lot of clubs to shame... esp the Likes of City, Arsenal. Everything has been done to make sure that place the best atmosphere possible. Every league game will be sold out.....Not for Nothing..... That stand behind the goal will dwarf the one at Anfield. Don't forget, last time Spurs had the Lane they went unbeaten all season, drawing only 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It may be bigger but spurs fans will need to be an awful lot better than they currently are to match the noise generated from the kop. It's not a dig it's just how it is.

If i were england i'd have sought to wriggle out of this game and got another friendly in somewhere else.

I agree But I cant overstate how much most fans have become totally fed up with Wembley. Things will be different once we are home (would be the same with any club) especially with the cost of doing anything in London. No Question Anfield has a fantastic atmosphere (esp at night) but have always thought WHL was good too esp compared to some of the other big clubs where the atmosphere can be pretty bland.... City, United (at Home) and Especially Arsenal.... Chelsea isn't bad for a totally plastic club..... You agree ??/ Other away days you guys especially like ? I always love Palace (awesome fan base)

To be fair, Spurs new 18000 capacity Kop could be the best end in Europe if we introduce safe standing.

The Yellow Wall is 14k seats, 25k safe standing to give you an idea...although the UK would adopt a 1:1 seat, stand ratio.

If we adopted a 1:1.7 ratio then Spurs end could hold thick end of 30k

having said that 43k for a 3pm Sat KO is poor.

Spurs fans complain about Wembley but 82k made it to see Messi 3 days earlier...

So 39k gloryhunters went missing and/or Spurs has a weak core support

Is there not a worry about the new stadium lacking atmosphere? A few clubs like Arsenal, Boro, Southampton et al have all moved and the atmosphere at the new grounds has been markedly inferior.

Yeah.... There is, as with all new stadiums BUT TBF to the club I think/hope they have learned the lessons of some pretty Soulless bowls that totally lack in chracter... Southampton,Leicester, Hull, Derby, Reading, Middlesborough, Sunderland all spring to mind. The Emmirates is just god awful.. I think even honest arsenal fans hate it. Spurs have made a huge effort to get the stands as close to the pitch as possible (Much closer than Arsenal & WH, similar to the old WHL)& the new home end is pretty unique in terms of new stadiums. I cant remember if anyone has recently designed a stadium with an 18,000 "Kopp" that fits seamlessly into a 3 tiered 62,000 Seat stadium... Fingers crossed

Even as a Chelsea fan, I have to admit that 17k South Stand at the Lane will be the best end in the UK by quite a long way.

Everytime I used to go to Liverpool, it was as quite as the Library. Admit I haven`t been for a bit. But a bit of cheering at the start and then silence for most of the match, hardly makes for an atmospheric stadium.

Yes we have had a lot of rivalry with Chelsea in the last decade. I was at the first champions league game with the ghost goal and that was one of the best atmospheres I’ve witnessed in since the 80’s.

Utd games are very hostile and City games are getting louder each year.

The only let down is early kick offs when half the ground are hunger over from a Friday session

Probably about five years ago, one of my best buddie is a scouser, so I often used to go to Anfield, when I was up visiting him and his wife. Not always to see Spurs play, whatever match was on at the time.

You do not have to actually be present at any of those grounds, to see half and half scarves at all of those grounds on Social Media. Plenty of clips of supporters with their half and half scarves.

Yes, I went to semi in 05, only noisier European games I have been to were Vicenza and Fenerhbace.

And it was the most hostile away game I have been in England since Millwall 95.

Went to noisier games in 80s with terracing agreed, but Anfield 05 was probably noisiest away game I have attended in seating era

I hope they bring back safe standing to be honest. Safety wise nowadays and with the technology and cctv there should be no problem. I remember standing in the kop late 80’s and your ears hurt by the end of the game it was that loud. I know most of the Kopp stands now but it is not the same crowd. I’ve seen many fans getting told to sing or go and sit in the other stands

05 was an amazing atmosphere. You lot sang as much if not more than our fans but it’s not just the singing it’s the hostility. Fans screaming for every decision and not agreeing with the ref even if you knew he was correct. I love those type of games. You leave with no voice left!

Oh this is terrible!

you could have said Spurs, they play at a soulless Wembley
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Laugh all you like at Spurs at Wembley, The delays, The cheeseroom, Prices etc... that's all fair game but when that place finally opens, its gonna put a lot of clubs to shame... esp the Likes of City, Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Everytime I used to go to Liverpool, it was as quite as the Library. Admit I haven`t been for a bit. But a bit of cheering at the start and then silence for most of the match, hardly makes for an atmospheric stadium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s because you’ve never been on a European night or against Utd, Chelsea or Everton. I admit the rest of our Saturday fixtures are full of corporates and tourists and the atmosphere is flat
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Does a fixture v Chelsea create a better atmosphere at Anfield than one versus Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes we have had a lot of rivalry with Chelsea in the last decade. I was at the first champions league game with the ghost goal and that was one of the best atmospheres I’ve witnessed in since the 80’s.

Utd games are very hostile and City games are getting louder each year.

The only let down is early kick offs when half the ground are hunger over from a Friday session
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I went to semi in 05, only noisier European games I have been to were Vicenza and Fenerhbace.

And it was the most hostile away game I have been in England since Millwall 95.

Went to noisier games in 80s with terracing agreed, but Anfield 05 was probably noisiest away game I have attended in seating era

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope they bring back safe standing to be honest.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, it was a cracking atmos and like I said probably noisiest away game I have been to since seating era in England.

On my European away days, only Fenehrbace noisier, Turkish fans amazing. The noise is deafening.

Best atmospheres I have experienced are the Bombonera and Fla-Flu derby

Its funny that the fans of clubs that can't fill their stadium like City and Spurs are the ones that shout the loudest about people on here attending games.

If they all attend games why are their stadiums half empty?

Oh wait...!

Both clubs have failed to sell out away allocations at big games too

I bet I’ve seen 10 times as many games for my club at Anfield as you have for your club at home. I’ve also seen them at most away grounds as well so I’m baffled where you got this comment from.

Oh and I’ve got a free wheel not fixed so your comment is completely redundant. Please try harder next time
