Rafa. He won a CL and challenged for the title vs SAF. Very good manager. Newcastle would be in the championship now under most managers.

Why would Rodgers even consider it with Ashley at the helm?

He'll have the same complaints as every other manager under his time there

He'll think he's had the purse strings loosened compared to what Desmond gives him

Rafa easily, won La Liga, the CL, Europa League etc. All Rodgers has won is a pub league and a new set of dentures.

People take the p*ss and call him Pep Rodgers but I do think there is some similarities where both need top players for it to work. Rafa doesn’t need that to get results.

The wee Spanish tubster. Not even a debate.

I have warmed to Rafa in the last few years.

No, I have not warmed to him enough to want him to replace Jose.

I've never disliked Rafa VC.

I've read and heard a lot about what a decent, generous guy he is and some of my friends who have met him have also confirmed this to be the case. Wouldn't want him at United simply because the football wouldn't be great but he's done well at Newcastle on very limited resources.

Rafa is a great manager. Best manager at Newcastle since Chris Houghton, clearly on paper Rafa is better but Houghton was a great loss.

I thought rafa was nuts to go to newcastle day 1. Nobody was ever keeping them up but he got them promoted and kept them up so thats 2 years of his career gone and now he's into year 3 with absolutely no support form ashley.

I know the wheels have come off for rodgers but he would be utterly utterly stupid to leave celtic for newcastle as it would end his career

Since the SPL is absolute pub then you may as well dismiss what Rodgers has achieved up there when comparing the 2, and where does that leave Rodgers? A promotion with Swansea and nearly winning a PL title with Liverpool when they had no Europe and Suarez.

There is no point to this question.

Talking of Rafa, I found this gem from 2011 earlier.

Best youth setup in the country

It is all pointing to a very positive future. This is all a result of Rafa's legacy, and will be harnessed by Kenny. I am convinced that we are at the start of a golden era for the club. A decade of dominance like Man U enjoyed in the 90s. Only this time it will be Rafa's Raggamuffins or Kenny's Kids.

YNWA.
