In the good old days before the Premier League we used to record football on VHS tapes (don't laugh). I just watched an old VHS recording of the Owls v Chelsea on 7th December 1991. Wednesday won 3-0

Some notable things about the match.

Clive Allen just signed for Chelsea from Man City for quarter of a million pounds. Striking partner Kerry Dixon. Chris Woods had flu so Kevin Pressman was in goal for the Owls. David Hirst scored twice with his right foot (not bad for a leftie) on his 24th birthday and his 200th appearance for the Owls.

Andy Townsend was booked for a reckless foul on Paul Warhurst which resulted in him being stretchered off. Paul Elliott outstanding in Chelsea defence.

Nigel Worthington and Kevin Hitchcock both sent off, late challenge (2nd yellow) and retaliation by keeper.
Vinnie Jones went in goal and was immediately booked by the ref for wasting time You couldn't make it up. He did ok in the net though, only let one in. (Paul Williams).

Chelsea fans singing 'one man went to mow'.

I know at least a couple of you guys might have been at this game. I was. Brilliant memories. Any thoughts?

Hi Kitty, I wasn't at the game unfortunately. In 91 I was on HM Submarine Spartan and probably at a depth of 500 feet under the sea!

The last time I went to Hillsborough we won 4-1, I rember Vialli scored one and I think Flo and Super Dan Pet Rescue were on the sheet as well. Think we had a pen as well.

Good day

Great win Brum, against your favourite team too .

Thoroughly deserved and could have been more but just to get through the game with a win is great

Same old story Nick, loads of possession but few clear cut chances.

However the points are all that matter at this stage of the season!

And it gives us a 5 point cushion, bearing in mind City are our next opposition!

Evening lads, finally we're back. Had technical problems most of the match but I caught the last half hour or so after all the goals were scored lol.

I've just seen, what's claimed, to be the new kit on FB.

The '3' logo on it, is hideous!

I am a little upset with Frank at present tbh. Firstly, I think he played RLC in the wrong position agst Villa and today he did the same with Gilmour imo

Hes capitalizing on the freedom and leeway hes been given since expectations are low. I cannot see him staying past next season if he continues along this path.

I can't really comment on today as I could only listen to it on the radio.

But I can't help feel that Billy, at his young age is better off in a 3 man midfield with a couple of older heads around him.

By all accounts he was disappointing today but lets not forget he's only 19 and just had his 1st start in 3 months.

Most of us agreed at the start of the season that the kids will be inconsistent so I just accept games like today.

And we still won!

Barcelona have put a £365m release clause in Miralem Pjanic's contract. The Bosnia and Juventus midfielder, 30, is due to join the La Liga club later his summer.

That's a bit overkill isn't it!!

Why would anyone agree to that?

I think its like when you sign a 1000 year lease as opposed to buying
