I am not sure about Root as captain.
I don't think he is an exceptional skipper and it certainly seems to be affecting his batting
Yeah, it's something that's affected our players from as long back as I can remember. When we made Botham captain he couldn't buy a run.
Cook was never the same after being appointed, I don't think Strauss and Vaughan's figures were as good after their appointments and I was disappointed when we made Root the Big Dipper.
I much preferred it when we had 'specialist' Captains like Brearley and Gatting as Captain (Although Gatting was a decent batsman in his own right).

its the most one sided 2-2 ive ever seen, when spurs scored their second the attempts were 19-1 in citys favour.

I'm totally non religious myself, these weird spellings of names make me laugh though.
Jermaine Jenas is the one that gets right up my nose wanting to be called Jeanus as soon as he gets famous. It's spelt Jenas ffs, if it were Jeanus it would start with 'Jean' not 'Jen'! .
Keanu Reeves is the Same, was always Keanu until he becomes mega famous then decides he wants to be called 'Key - R - noo'!
Just announced Steve Smith won't take any further part in the game and an application for a replacement has been made. Likely be be substitute fielder Marnus Labuschagne!

For the more level headed of us this is work in progress bluebells. Just go back to the start of last season, everyone was saying how stagnant the squad was and how we worried for top four.
Move on 12 months, we've lost our talisman and the only player that could score regularly for us last term gone, a transfer ban and some are expecting these young inexperienced lads to deliver - an absolute joke!
It will take these lads at least 12 months probably more before they become consistent and grow into men.
Top six will be as much as I'm expecting this season!

I never realised until I saw a documentary a few years ago that he used to get death threats from the IRA!!

We kind of did tbh. Kante had a poor game, and when that happens a midfield 2 ain't good enough. I would have taken Mount off 2nd half. Not because he did nothing wrong, but once we lost the midfield he was out of the match. Anyway, I predicted a 1 1 draw so should accept it.
