Have you been having that Koolaid?? You are the only idiot around here that's been advocating for sanchez to play ahead of him- telling Sanzhez is world class (Joker).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sanchez is world class. But Martial is stepping up and to be fair deserves to be starting
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lmao. "Sanchez is world class". How does someone get this delusional?

You have to laugh at these guys Madrid, for any idiot that thought they would do better without the GOAT, their recent diabolical record is your answer. He is miles ahead of Benzema and Bale combined
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hardly rocket science to know it's going to be hard to make up for Ronaldo's goals, but selling him was anything but a short-term decision, much less one to be judged so early on in the season.

Also, just for the record, at this point last year he was stinking the place out. After landing himself a 5-game ban to kick the season off, he then scored a whopping 2 goals in his first 9 starts. Both Bale and Benzema have put in better numbers at this stage this season.

He'd made a habit of taking it easy in La Liga until the New Year. Up to that point he'd only turn up for CL games.

As for being laughed at, 3 CL titles on the trot and 4 in 5 years is a pretty comfortable position from which to be taking risks. I'd be far more worried if we'd gone 5 or 6 seasons without a league title and no progress to write home about in the CL.

Jose has just ruled Sanchez out of the Juve game - apparently hasn't trained this morning.

Hopefully that means Martial will retain his place.

Nobb has to be a wum surely.

Sanchez is world class, had one decent half for United in 2018

......

But does he actually wind any one up with his nonsense? Most of the time he gets wound up himself and has to end up filtering people.

He should, but I've thought that before and seen him dropped.

.....

Quite a few of us have.

Jose had his favourites and will get them back in the team when ever Martial, Shaw, Bailly, Herrera and Mata have a bad game.

Yet Matic, Pogba, Sanchez and Lukaku are unndropable pretty much..

At least Jose has now started to drop Sanchez.

I don't thing Sanchez could make it as a ten. Gives the ball away to much. I could see the him as a striker despite the lack of pace. Not all strikers are fast. Zlatan was very slow when he was with us.

No, I don't really see him making it as a 10 either - I did say it was his best chance. But I certainly don't see him making it as a striker either. Zlatan might not have had the pace anymore, but he was 6ft 5", very strong and agile, fantastic in the air and had been playing as a striker for many years and knew when and where to make his runs. He was a master of his art.

Sanchez is 30 in 2 months time. You really think that a 5ft 7" winger whose legs have gone is going to suddenly convert into a striker good enough to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world? I'd love to be proven wrong, but I really don't see it. Irrespective of whether or not he is intelligent enough to learn how to play as a striker in a short space of time, he simply doesn't have the physical attributes to play as the leading man. Especially playing under Jose, who loves to go direct.

Having said all of that, I wouldn't be against seeing an interchangeable front 3 of Sanchez, Martial and Rashford.

If you look at my first comment I also don't think he could do it here nor the PL, unless he is playing in a team based around him.

He isn't static like Lukaku and He's do better under a different manager if he were to play there. He could do it but not with us. Not in The PL. He played there in preseason and looked better there then out wide for us, though that's only preseason.

And we don't have any strikers that are Jose types. Lukaku fits the build but lacks everything else he likes in a striker. He could do no worse than Lukaku is at the moment.

Yes, he would perhaps have a better chance in another league - perhaps Spain. However, I don't see him really making the transition at a high enough level to be doing it for a top team. As you say, pre-season isn't really a true reflection of where players are at.

And I agree - we don't have any strikers that Jose usually likes to have up front. For me, the performance of Kane against Spain highlighted exactly what we are missing (under Jose). Lukaku doesn't have the touch, strength or intelligence to drop deep and take the ball and bring the wide forwards into the game. He often talks about wanting to improve his game and develop, but I do wonder whether he actually studies the game, as he never seems to have a game plan in mind of how he is going to get the upper hand over the defenders he is up against.
