Nope, Milner then VVD should be order of captains. Henderson just isn't captain material, never was.

Maybe in about 2 or 3 years / wnen Milner retires then Robertson could become VC but long term VVD should be made captain.

Milner isn't long term though whereas Robertson could be a club captain for next 10-12 years.

VVD possible but I think Robertson as he is a national captain

Can see VVD getting the captaincy first. I’d sooner have someone in the centre of the park as captain, either CM or CB.

Why does him being picked to captain the national team mean he's necessarily captain material?

Henderson was picked to captain the club but I assume you think he isn't captain material if you want him stripped of the captaincy, so how can you be so confident Robertson is captain material?

Through observation really. Robertson displays more leadership qualities but also crucially I think he will become one of the first names on the team sheet in a way Hendo won't (and already isnt)

I don't want VVD to be captain but I guess its inevitable.

He's already doing a captain's job without an armband. I'd rather let VVD keep doing his thing in his own way and give someone else the added responsibility.

Unless he's pining for it in which case he can have it but if possible I'd prefer to give it to someone else first.
