Just to weigh in on this. Whilst time at a club can be a factor it is the impact during their time (short or otherwise) that is the dominant characteristic.
For example Okocha only had 4 seasons at Bolton, Moravcik 4 at Celtic and Klinsmann less than 60 games at Spurs.
Rather perversely to look at the other scale of it by the end of the season Fellaini will have had as many seasons at Utd as Ronaldo.
Don't know how anyone doesn't figure on Ronaldo being a Utd legend. Most exciting player at the club in the last 20 years (Since Giggs in full flight mid 90s', won the lot with the club and is only the 4th Utd player to win the ballon d'or and only one in the last 50 years.
---------------------
And still I suspect that most United fans wouldn't consider him a United legend. Its a weird one and hard to put your finger on exactly what makes a player a club legend.
all 3 legend status are different imo anyway
Edwards was the fact he was taken so young and so many who played with and against him said he was the best they ever played with/faced, not just any bodies but legends
cantona-changed the whole culture of our club to one of a winning one and brought that swagger back, basically helped start fergies dynasty
Ronaldo-maybe not the significant impact overall as the others but just as good if not better as a player and spear headed one of utd best ever teams, unlike the 99 team who had a lot of great players Ronaldo imo stood out in a great team, that's why he's a legend to me
Ronaldo wanting to leave may taint his status somewhat as well whereas all the others mentioned pretty much played for United most (or all) their careers.

Ronaldo leaving was understood and accepted (if not liked) by Utd fans.
He had delivered the holy grail to us and his ambition and trajectory exceeded that of the club (demonstrated by our transfer business in successive years). Bear in mind that he had left his country as a kid and had the opportunity to play for the biggest team in his footballing culture. He also didn't submit a transfer request and there was nothing acrimonious in his departure nor was there a saga.
Very different to Rooney, who submitted a transfer request twice and used the threat of moving to our nearest rivals as leverage to secure record contracts before fading into mediocrity before we had to pay him to leave.

I understand Arsenal had the statue of Henry but I'd argue they got the best of him. I'm a big fan of Ronaldo but I do think it's a shame he left us and peaked elsewhere. I'm not saying that I don't think he's a legend but I also don't think he'll ever be truly loved like the likes of Scholes, Robson, Giggs, Cantona etc.
My opinion though and this is all subjective.

Of course, and that is why I love this place, differing opinions. I just think the heights Ronaldo took us to during that 42 goal season cements himself as a legend. People forget how good that Chelsea team also were. He was the catalyst to us winning that 2nd champs league, a trophy even the mighty Henry could not help Arsenal to attain. He is a legend at this club in my opinion. The fact Ferguson had him down as one of only his " 4 world class players" says a lot.
Yep, the same owner that is now a millionaire! He sure is stupid

Enlighten me what he meant? Arsenal FC are not the owners of AFTV. A fan is. Arsenal FC sanctioned for the statue to go ahead. It was a stupid point.
Actually, Arsenal wanted to distance themselves so much from the show, the channel had to change name to AFTV.

Have you actually seen AFTV? I mean, I actually haven't as it happens, but I have seen clips - and they did seem to be largely idiots.
zidane is one at Juve and Real
Apart from the obvious ones from Busby and Fergie winning teams Hughsie (going back to Big Ron) is a United legend in my book.So is Stevie Coppell Hill and Pancho from the Doc days.
And then there are the cult players players like Whiteside etc.
Then there are players (legends or not) who are 'owned' by 2 sets of supporters. Where they played mainly for 2 clubs equally. The likes of Jordan, Stapleton, Wilkins, Mata, VDS, Yorke, Sheringham, etc.
