Can’t see a problem. If you don’t want to wear it, you shouldn’t have to. Forcing people to wear it kind of defeats the object of the whole thing. Not like these players are out putting the poppies through shredders
The grenfell thing was fecking disgusting. Bunch of ignorant gammons.

I condemn those burning the Grenfell bonfire and you for calling people gammons......both racist!
Nothing wrong with no wearing the poppy
The problem is McClean is a massive cuuuunt and gets off on the abuse. It’s the fact how years ago he bragged about his decision not to wear it. Compare it to Matic’s Reasoning for not wearing it and you see why he gets no abuse
McClean is a scuuumbag
The whole point about the British and allies fightening against N@zi! oppression was to defend freedom and the right to be free.
That includes your beliefs as long as you do no harm to others, wearing or non wearing f the poppy is a decision for the individual, its not compulsory.
Btw..I used to raise money for the British Legion by selling poppies, but I never force people too..
Op
The Fa do not force people to wear a poppy....it is on clubs shirts.
The Fa called out fans shouting at McLean and James for using abusive language.....not for his poppy line.
McLean gives out Irish republican politics, likes pira songs, quoted Bobby Sands on why not to wear a poppy and Pira leader and murder squad director Martin McGuinness is his hero.
Now, if he does not want to wear a poppy, no worries....I am not into forcing things on folk. However, by supporting violent republicans, James undermines his arguments against those using violence against
civilians.
Same as Matic aligning himself with serbs who included war criminals, and who Nato countered after murder on massive scales.
NATO are not led by brits, btw....so the poppy is not linked to Serbian bombing, imo!

'But he also thanked those Stoke fans who "are actually educated and support me".'
Well, if you were 'actually' educated James you could use basic logic and realise that without these soldiers and those who fought in the second World War the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland would have almost certainly been overrun by the Germans and Ottoman Empire or later the Nazis.
Although the poppies are of course for remembering the British soldiers who fought in the first World War without our veterans you would not be enjoying the happy, privileged life in a democratic society you do today. So they are the ones you should be thanking.
I see it another way.
The club puts it on the shirt and are there for making it part of the kit, if players then refuse to wear it they are making themselves unavailable to play.

NATO may have saved Bosnian Muslim lives, innocent Croats and serbs too, so is Matic and others saying hands off serbs,,we kill who we want.....and if you stop us, we refuse to wear a poopy.
Same with ra fan McClean who does not have to wear a poppy, or insult the Anthem, ignoring unionist victims of his mates and Hyde park victims, for example.
