when you get beat on away goals it is a defeat

Defeats don't count when determining who's unbeaten. Only draws do

Why bother?

We are officially unbeaten and there cannot be any debate about that. Can anyone imagine Chelsea winning v Everton,Man U beating Man City and Chelsea beating Tottenham and Fulham afterwards in Premiership. That would be great if it happens in the future.

Unbeaten or not, I'm pleasently surprised by our current form and feel there is a much to be grateful for.

Shield is a competitive fixture as you are competing for the shield

The Charity shield is objectively a competitive game. It's not up for debate.

When you see the number of goals a player has scored in all competitions, it includes those scored in the Community Shield.

Plenty of pre season tournaments these days are played for a trophy and prize money on top of that, The Emirates Cup for example. Are those competitive fixtures too?

It's an officially recognized competitive match with no competitive rewards or consequences, basically it's a 'real' fixture because FIFA say so

Each side will be allowed seven substitutes each, with six changes granted during the 90 minutes. The move reflects the Community Shield's status as effectively a glorified pre-season friendly.
Quote from the Liverpool Echo-Seems its a friendly when it suits them. With all the better teames having half their squad at the world cup and six subs per team only goes to show that its a preseason CHARITY friendly.

Moyes won a trophy as United manager. Unreasonably sacked clearly
