Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has bizarrely used James Milner as an example when speaking about the incorrect penalty decision awarded for Raheem Sterling’s trip last night.
uardiola, when asked if Sterling had any obligation to tell the referee that he hadn’t actually been fouled, said “He could do that, yeah. But last season, Liverpool – Milner could say (about) the pass for the second goal in the 44th minute, (that) it was a legal goal.”
The Blues boss was referencing a moment in last season’s 2-1 quarter-final second-leg in the Champions League match between Liverpool and City, when Leroy Sane had a goal disallowed for offside even though the ball was accidentally played to him by James Milner.
“He could do that, but of course (referee Antonio) Mateu Lahoz didn’t want to concede that goal, so that’s why it happened,” Guardiola continued.

Its pretty clear that there are a lot of whiny bottlers supporting liverpool.

The fact is that LFC haven't quite got it right, but have had a good start and are still up there.
the fact that city have played a lot of the lower half/relegation teams and hockeyed them seems to have the plastique type fans quite irate for some reason as if city were sure to get 110 points this year.
The reality is i could be the case that we beat fulham and utd and city draw and LFC are back joint top again this weekend.

Yes. In fact having read it a couple of times now I'm not entirely sure how you could interpret it as anything other than that!
He's saying we've been good but City are incredibly strong and play with style that we'll be compared to. You've set a new benchmark.

No he didn't. Their only goal came from a foul. Nobody attacked players unless you're talking about the bus being attacked, in which case nobody got away with it, punishment in line with other punishments dished out for similar was made.
