He excels in stopping goals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He hasn't this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are still plenty of examples if him keeping us in games if you watch back highlights this season.

Everton and Bournemouth being good examples of games we lose or go behind with a lesser keeper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I said before the derby his form got alot better after the newcastle game. Still this season, he hasnt excelled at keeping goals out. He has conceded 21.

The guy is allowed a little drop in form to be fair. He's still a great keeper but he's set such high standards that we're expecting him to save everything!

I would like to see him command his box a bit more and be more decisive however, at least he's consistent in staying back so the defence should, in theory, know exactly where they stand with him.

He's the least of our problems at the moment and I'm sure that when United start playing consistently well again he'll improve too. It surely can't be easy playing behind our defence at the moment!

Seems to be in a bit of a funk that started last season and went through the World Cup. But it can’t help with the ever changing back line and amount of chances Utd concede. Still the best gk, atleast shop stopper in the league for me.

It makes me laugh the fans of other teams saying he's useless now. He's still by far and away the best goal keeper in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not seen single person say he's useless.

Nit sure he's 'far and away' the best keeper in the league though.

I like the look of Kepa who reminds me of DDG actually.

Allison and Emerson both very good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think I’m starting to jinx him but Kepa has gone under the radar and largely been fantastic this season, pulled off some great saves and his passing is wonderful, such a stark contrast from Cech who was world class but couldn’t pick out a blue shirt for us.

Mental pressure maybe (from himself).

Also feel like he's a bit Shay Given esque, the more shots are fired at him the better he is but he's a bit dodgy when there's not much happening

Watch all 21 of those goals and tell me how many you expect him to save? Our defence give away about 7 clear cut chances per game, he has done well to keep it at 21.

I don't care what he does for Spain, As long as he performs for us, That's the important thing.

posted on 16/11/18

We'd be a lot lower and much less of a chance at top four without him.

He hasn't been great but I doubt there would be many GKs, with the defense we have ans their form this season, to have kept it down to 21.

He is massive evidence of just how susceptible humans are to myth creation.

An excellent example to social analysts (such as myself) of how 'tribalism' creates, maintains and further generates the necessary falsehoods needed to form the foundations of weak people's symbol based 'reality'.

Long since recognised that, great and as passionate as my lifelong support for MUFC has been, the club will continue to be an unsuccessful league team whilst Coco is the goalkeeper.

Not a thought, feeling or anything else just as ethereal, just a singular reality.

Looking forward to when he his gone (which is looking far too distant) and the club, team, players etc., can get back to playing proper league football again.

Don't don't don't believe the hype.

Thing about De Geas situation is he is obviously too good for United but where is he going to go if he does leave? The only one of Europe's giants with a poor keeper is Juve but even they bought Perin who should be starting.

Both Madrid's and Barca have top level young keepers who don't need replacing.

Wasn't the first goal a one v one and 2nd an unmarked header at the far post?

The last was a partially unsighted shot from inside the box but maybe he should have done a bit better, that being said he didn't parry it out in front of him though, he pushed it wide of the goal. Aside for holding onto it the only other place he could really put it was towards the penalty spot.

I can't help but thinking that with all what's going on (and a dodgy back four in front of him) his confidence has taken a bit of a blow.

Classic response of a cowardly, lightweight, shoot through.

Things not going well, turn your back and run.

It is none of your business - seeing as how you are just an insignificant ........ well, insignificant insignificance really. But, having follwed the club through relegation etc., I can more than cope with a period of limited relative non-success because an inappropriate keeper weakens the defensive unit (and thus the team). It'll start to begin to turn around when he has gone. I have patience enough.

Not my fault you think you know better when you don't, but I will promise to endeavour to "grow up" providing you promise to just grow.

Other than that try to become less than insignificant.

Toodle pip, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to post my diatribe twice.

Probably join the trend of having a goalkeeper who's a better outfielder than he is an actual goal keeper

IAmMe is a wum. Don't take it seriously.

posted on 16/11/18

I think he’s a brilliant WUM.

In a way, quite beautifully understated: doesn’t post too frequently, doesn’t go chasing bites, is consistent in the nonsense he posts, writes often quite eloquently...

He’s not your Hollywood blockbuster WUM like Wahl; he’s not even your Oscar-nominated, audience-wowing WUM like Barry. His is a carefully crafted wummery that many will dismiss as strange or boring - “I just don’t get it,” they’ll say.

Like the oft-misunderstood Kings of Cannes - Herzog, Lynch, Lean and Leigh - IAmMe ignores the mainstream WUM, shunning the headlines, the glory, attention and infamy, and focusing instead on his work, figuratively chipping away at his performance art masterpiece, sat in his smoking jacket tapping away in the dark, an ash-laden Gauloise hanging loosely from his concerned leer (probably).
