Perisic or at least based on last season and the World Cup, mind, is still quality. Would suit PL footy easily

Cobsbollocks!

Why is there such bias towards foreign players when there are plenty of world class players in the prem like Harry Kane, Zaha or Sterling for example. I haven't even heard of this fella you are talking about, but its typical grass is always greener on the other side kind of attitude.

This is the kind of thinking which leaves us with players like Zhirkov, Mikel and Torres
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you show your ignorance of Chelsea and football in general when you mention Mikel in that way, as he was undropable for so many Coaches and managers in his Career with us even though for 95%of the time he was played out of his natural position.

Didn’t you have difficulties with Dortmund over Bats when they wanted him permanently? It seems unlikely they’d sell Pulisic and then take one of your players on loan just to develop them.
--------------------------------------------------------
Nah, intentionally they wanted a future fee clause but they decided not to even try and buy him once his loan expired.

It depends whether they see CHO in the same light as Chelsea fans do. I personally haven't seen much of him, I'm trusting the opinions of everyone else, and if that's the case (i.e. he is that good) a loan to Dortmund, whether he's directly competing or playing with Sancho, would do wonders for him. That club's record with young attacking players is fantastic, he'd be better off there than with us as a teenager for sure

Not if he were to be actually given a chance he wouldn't.

The lack of opportunity we give our young players is something that does grate on me now.

Not wishing to detract from Alexander Arnold, and Gomez but they played in Liverpool youth teams that couldn't live with our kids. I remember games where our lads absolutely schooled them.

But Liverpool have given them a chance and look at them now - playing for England in a competetive match as we speak.

We give up on young players far too quickly though. Christensen was one of the Bundesliga's best CB's for two years and it took him one year to be out of favor, the slightest hint of weakness in his game and CHO would be chucked in the bin by us.

If he was loaned to Dortmund, even if he wasn't playing regularly you know they'll take care of him a lot better than we would. Just seems like smart business to me (if they were interested in taking him of course).

Yes but we don't seem to even play Christensen or Ruben Loftus Cheek on a regular basis even with them showing that they have got enough talent to be a useful supersub.I wanted CHO and RLC to get proper opportunities not 1 in 4 matches.

We probably wouldn't be unbeaten had we been the rotating game after game.

Loftus Cheek to be honest isn't getting game time because he lacks discipline. He is holding himself back.

I've always been in two minds about this. Gomez & TAA aren't quite fair examples because the set up Klopp has got Pool playing is greater than the sum of it's parts by design - it's why Salah & Mane can look world class when it clicks + why they lost almost nothing by selling Coutinho. It speaks more about Klopp as a manager and the tactical identity he's given Pool that allows them to blood youngsters in naturally, he did the same at Dortmund.

And that sort of segues to my next point. When we appointed Sarri we knew we were getting a heavy philosophy manager who didn't have the best track record of trusting young players as a matter of principle (like Poch for example). If Sarri's not playing CHO it's because he believes he's not better equipped to play his football than Willian, Pedro or even Moses, and we have to accept that.

But with that being the case loaning him out to somewhere like Dortmund, as an example, would be the best possible outcome for everyone involved. I can only really judge him by hype as I've not seen much, but if he's anything close to Sancho that move could make his career

No complaints with J O M, he was a model professional for us for 10 years or so,always did what he was told by Mourinho, thereby going from an attacking midfielder to a defensive one,and never complained.

What do you guys think about Piatek?
--------------------------------------------------------------
Think it's way too soon to judge but given Morata's form, the lack of better targets and the uncertainty over our potential transfer ban we'll buy him in January for crazy money in a blind panic.

Just watch

The only thing that video shows is how great the nostalgia is, when an awful quality youtube vid is combined with a great tune from the mid 2000s

But in all seriousness someone could make a compilation to make Bakayoko look great

They obviously still had issues. It goes against their ethos to develop players for others, without getting a big pay queque.

Other clubs have a much better way of bringing their youth into the first team squad and developing them, but at the same time being better at youth level doesn’t mean much. Which Chelsea’s academy shows because not many have gone on to have as good a career as lesser youth players.

I would rather break the bank for Icardi instead of paying silly money from Piatek!
