Things have improved in recent weeks and he’s gotten us to the knockout stages of the CL
.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has he? My understanding was that we've still got to beat those Young Boys good and proper until that's true.
This Utd team is easily capable of drawing that game and allowing Valencia a final chance.

Valencia still need to win in Italy too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No they can beat us in md6 surely instead?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My bad, they need to get a draw in Italy and hope we drop points against Young Boys
And there’s no real reason to fear them. We’re really not that bad at all

Fancy us to beat Young Boys and Juve to beat Valencia. We’ll struggle badly in the ko stages.
I was hoping the Wooden Top would clarify that get out.
.....
It probably went over his noggin.
Wooden Tops is what we used to call the Guards Regiments because of their level of thickness.
If the club had football people above Jose then we could spend £100m in January and still replace Jose provided we bought well. Theoretically if we did buy Alderwiereld in January for £35m for example (as I think Spurs may just 'deal' at that price seeing as how he can go for £25m in summer and if he expresses a desire to leave) then I'm sure no manager coming in would be displeased by having that player available.
Jose will do well to finish in top 4 this season but if we are to do it then in this run up to the new year we really do need to get back amongst that top 4 pack. If we're no closer then it'll be very, very difficult. Having said all of that it wouldn't be a total shock to me to see us fluking the CL.Stranger things have happened!

A thick soldier? Surely not.
Buying 1 cb isn't going to make us a good team. We still.need players playing for us that can move the ball from defence into attack, we need an attacking philosophy to get the most out of players like fred, we need our wingers to stop tracking fullbacks, we need an to see more freedom in our play. I do not think that 1 cb is going to make Jose get the best out of all the other players in our squad.

I don't know what to make of this, but....
...The talking point for me in that video is the £100 million January window transfer budget.
Now, what i'm trying to get my head around is this...
Who is the £100 million really for - Jose or Zidane/someone else?...Or budget (that big) doesn't exist for January window?
If it's for Jose, then why would they supposedly flirt with Zidane?
If it's for ZiZou then why would they 'give' Mourinho the go ahead to supposedly plan targets for the mid season window? All the pre planning and discussions would be a wasted time and effort of everyone involved.
If it's for Zidane then that'd mean they're already in discussions as a unit behind Jose's back about who Zidane wants to bring in.
So if indeed they are flirting with Zidane, then all this double teaming behind Jose's back is going to end up all messy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He does kind of explain in the vid. He says the 100 mil was meant for the next manager. Jose won't have 100 mil to spend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I know he does explains that in his video. But I was just putting my putting my viable points across as to what other outcomes there could be
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair.

I agree that Jose's time is probably up at United. If we did have a proper structure there though we could still buy players with him in charge.
Let's face it though it's all one great big mess at the moment. The club have been too complacent over the years and there should have been proper plans in place for life after SAF years before he actually retired. He was on a one-year rolling contract I believe so you could say the board has been quite negligent really.

Yes you're right, but I will cut them a bit of slack as sir Alex said himself he had no real plans to retire until his wife's sister died and then gill wanted to leae the same year but right now there's no excuse 5 years later to still be dithering and acting in reaction to events. We should be looking to the future and not be buying 30 year old scraps from other teams. It's Jose being selfish imo

You are right Nobb. It isn't a crime.
But counting chickens when you shouldn't often leads to a user name change in your case.

I realise there's more issues than just one player but my point is that having one additional good CB wouldn't be a bad thing for the new manager.
We can't keep going on in limbo like this if it's clear we need some new, better players. Either we back Jose or we sack him as what we're seemingly doing now isn't helping anyone.

It's hard to disagree with the sentiment of what you're saying. Personally I don't trust Jose to get it right. I would like to see Bailly given a proper chance just like matic has been afforded. Toby is 30 and could be another Sanchez.
