IMO Leeds need to give their manager decent funds in January for probably one high level player entirely of his choosing.
At this rate I would predict the play offs and from what I've seen I'd say the play offs would be very tricky for Leeds.
However, they seem to only need the right signing in one or two places to guarantee first or second place and then take it from there with premier league money.
Or get a player(s) on a 6 months loan who wants game time from the Prem.
I dunno, maybe Loftus Cheek, Origi or any of the many others who would be served well by banging in goals and performances for that 6 months.
No love, pretty spot on observations.
The challenge is that the club have said they have no money, havevexhausted sbenuews fur raising money and indeed we had to sell Vieira to find the purchase of long term injured Bamford.
Also Biejsa has saud he doesn’t need additions. This was before Blackman got injured, but nonetheless I’m not expecting substantial inbound business this Jan.
I’d say we have been average with injuries, all part of the game. It just highlights the weaknesses in the squad when fans see so many u23s on the bench.
Currently only Bamford Berardi and Ayling out injured. Brown too but we knew about that one.
Pearce expected back for Bristol city after minor injury. Shaughnessy back playing u23s. Jansson and Alioski were hopefully pulled out of internationals as a precaution.
So far this burnout is also another myth.
Blackman - fractured leg in collision
Bamford - pcl after collision with keeper
Ayling - collateral ligament from a tackle
Berardi - landed awkwardly to create latest injury
Roofe - kicked in training
Yes we saw Pablo and Douglas out with muscle injuries but they are the older players in the side. Pablo is prone to muscle tears.
If we sell we will have money
When you consider that the nucleus of the squad was here last season, Bielsa has worked wonders with the players.
We've had injuries, as others have previously said, that mirror those of other teams in this division but the impact on Leeds United is more noticeable due to the squad size.
The club isn't skint, its operating on a budget which, in my opinion, is entirely sensible. Do we really want a return to the Ridsdale times?
I suspect we'll see another keeper, hopefully one that can step straight into the first team. We might also see a couple of outfield players although I'm not sure they'll be permanents.
WBA was a poor result so the break, for a change, has come at the right time.
If we can steer through December and January without falling out of contention, then I believe we'll be there or thereabouts for the run-in.
Progress. Positive times for Leeds United.
Accurate assessment from the OP. I think Rad is going to be willing to invest if we are in contention, I read somewhere that Bielsa had declined to have them bring in a player they had earmarked, so looks like he has a say in recruitment. What would we give for even a poor mans Sniffer Clarke right now!
Surely the club can mash up a million for a loan, probably less, no?

Wages have certainly been freed up due to Blackmans return to Chelsea.
“The League is a marathon, not a race...”
the marathon actually is a race, I think you had in mind that it’s not a sprint.
Ok, but from where I'm sitting I don't see why a club like Liverpool wouldn't accept a loan for a player like Origi who was on loan at some German club last season.
He did nothing but I'd back him to hit the net regularly in the Championship. As a striker he's more power than finesse when he scores, scores with his head too and has bags of pace and can play on the wing.
Origi is the only player I'm familiar with mind, there are others obviously at other clubs.
No love, Bielsa favours perm players ahead of loaners. Our Liam players very rarely, if ever start a match, so not sure a loan would make an impact.
Kebab was going to post something similar re burnout, not really seen evidence of it at all.
Good post EW. It's stick or twist in my view. Bielsa says publicly that he has the players he needs. This allows Radz to say we are not looking for anyone. However, he will remember that no-one backed Monk 2 years ago and look what happened. If we don't go up this season, will Bielsa stay? We got 10mil from the Americans and 7mil for Vieira. I think Radz is all in to go up this year and I expect a couple of classy signings in January.
