India vs Aus series

Good win for India, but this ended being closer than it needed to be. We have a tendency to give strong positions back to the oppositions.

Now over to perth. If we win this we have a decent chance of winning this series by a good margin. The batsmen will need to do better, should aim for 400+ in the first innings.

Expect India to win this series, very poor Aus batting lineup

Pant has been very disappointing. Not sure how he has been given a license to play this way. I would understand this approach if India were leading with 400 runs but not when you are merely leading with 200 runs

Also, Kohli becomes the first Asian captain to win Tests abroad in England, SA and Aus. His bowlers are a big part of that but his aggressive nature is exactly what Indian cricket needed after Dhoni. Next step is to stop being nearly men and win these series' rather than one off games.

Yep Kav, if we can win this series that would be good. There have been a lot close matches this year in Eng and SA, but India have just not been able to cross the line. If we can win this series, that will be huge. Also good to see Rahane and Pujara come good in the first match. We won this without Kohli contributing much which can only be good from the teams point of view.

Under Kohli the fast bowling culture has changed massively. They are a lot fitter and have been as good as opposition bowlers. It was really good to hear Aus commentators praising Indian bowlers throughout this match. India also were faster than aus bowlers which was rare to see. Bumrah was touching the 150 mark fairly often.

In dhoni’s time we used to have this same set of bowlers who would bowl one good spell and then start bowling thrash.

Looks like this has the makings of a cracking close series just like the England India test where every test could have gone either way apart from the game where is was cloudy as fak whenever India batted.

Boss, we lost all five tosses in England can you believe it

While not huge, it played a big role in England getting some advantages. Thought the scoreline was harsh myself and we were good value for five tests on a competing front. Here, Kohli won the toss and put the Aussies in to chase last and it paid off.

yeah it was a close series in England. It only finished 4-1 to England

250 is not enough. I would expect Australia to bat past the Indian score now.

As close as this

I didn't take into consideration the Australian batting is a joke. You will get battered at Perth

Aussies without Smith and Warner look very average in the batting department. That's a combined average over 100 runs between them missing.

Combine that with the aggressive nature Warner bats with it has cost the Aussies alot.

Still think the pair of them were royally screwed over with the 12 month ban especially when other Captain/players got 1-2 tests.

Ashwin and Rohit out for the next test. Side strain and back injuries respectively. The former is a big big blow even if the wicket is pace friendly because Ashwin brings a real sense of control and calmness even with his batting. Rohit is no big loss and Vihari should do far better than he did in the first test. Looks like it may be a four pronged fast bowling attack with Yadav coming in.

Pant os a better wicket-keeper than Sarfraz Ahmed for sure if his athletic ability is to go by.

I saw some of today's play and India could find it difficult when the Aussies come to bowl.

Yes it was a green wicket with the ball moving all over the place. 270 for 6 looks a good score already.

Yeah the Aussies have got this I reckon. If they can creep up to 350 in the morning they'll be in a very commanding position.

I meant Pant was great behind the stumps today.

India’s openers and no.3 have done pretty well on this wicket. They need to carry on tomorrow and will be good to see both Rahane and Kohli score big 100s

posted on 15/12/18

India’s bowling was also pretty good. Only weakness I see in this attack is the fact they struggle against tail in every match. We always seem to give 50-100 runs more than they should get.

For tomorrow the longer Aus are out in this pitch bowling the better it is for India. Given aus have only 3 pacers here it can be a long toil for them. We should aim to get a lead here

India weakness is the openers. Was hoping to see Shaw play against a proper attack.

Boss, time for Vijay and Rahul to be dropped permanently. Rahul might end up scoring a high risk 40 and hold on to his place but he has lost his game. In 2014 when he came in tests in 2014 he had so much patience and good technique. He has lost all that after playing too many t20s

How long have I been begging for Vijay to stop getting chances at the top of this order

He is the most average opening batsman we have probably ever produced. How he keeps getting chances is genuinely beyond me. Shaw’s injury has been a nightmare situation.

Kav I believe both are playing their last innings here. They are as good as our no.11s. I always get fascinated on why this 2 always seem to get unplayable deliveries. But I am convinced that they make it look unplayable cause I never see Kohli get these sort of deliveries.

And Kohli yet again scores a 100. What a player he is. Scored in all conditions thrown at him this year. He will deffo come close to 40+ test centuries at this rate. India are blessed to have such a great player.
