are Liverpool fans still pretending to be in a title race?!

Whether we like it or not, being 5 points behind (plus a game in hand) at this stage indicates that they are in the title race.

What, you mean "top two at Christmas" isn't a trophy? Why are we even bothering?

I expect Burnley to roll over for them tonight.

Can you imagine the Scouse outrage if that had been City gifted that sort of goal?
But in Scouseland, teams are rolling over for City.

There is an element of an aura around this City side now that teams are half beaten before they play you, so it's like they go in with a damage limitation mindset, I guess this is where the "rolling over" comments come from.

The thing anytime I've seen city in a game is when teams do try have a go and look to exploit the space Pep's set up leaves open.

But if teams are coming to play you and already thinking let's keep this scoreline down then that's because you've battered so many sides and have built the reputation that leads to the negative midset some teams approach with.

When teams have a proper go, like us last season, Lyon this year (just off the top of my head) then it shows City can be got at and do struggle at times. Doesn't happen often though.

It appears you're still pretending that we're not.

I spoke about this last night.. surely teams are rolling over for liverpool aswel then? Because city have only had the obvious games easy. We have had close games in the difficult ones.

In the last two games it hasn't been straightforward for City to be fair.

A Liverpool fan on twitter moaned about this saying why didn’t Watford have a go at us.

He disappeared after it was pointed out Watford had more shots and corners than Liverpool did at anfield.

Not really seen it myself. I do see a lot of City fans on here take a singular thing and then apply it to literally millions of Liverpool fans though. Perhaps start there and work backwards

Is the pressure of a title race getting to you this early?

What all of city fans everywhere.

He’s lumping is all together, that would wind some up but they would have to be a total snowflake and easily offended.

I agree. Would you agree this isnt a one sided rivalry tho.
I think it has become one and we have always had one with everton aswel. Thats just my opinion going there tho. Everton always seem to hate city.

I think there is an element of this. Not so much rolling over but just trying to keep the score down. Like teams used to do against United back when they were good. Teams need to be brave, considering they're expected to lose anyhow.
