Question marks over Smalling, Jones, Martial and Bailly fitness
His Manchester United players are yet to train today, so Jose Mourinho was unable to confirm if there are any fresh injuries.
But he did say Chris Smalling, Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are all injury worries.
He said when asked: "I don't know. Training session, 11 o'clock will give us some answers, "Smalling, Jones, Martial, Bailly, of course Lindelof and Alexis we don't even speak about them but we need answers and for sure we are going to play with players not with the max of their potential but players who will put themselves available for the team like Smalling did last match, Jones at S, players in difficulty who go one step forward to try and help the team."
Jose Mourinho was then asked what will the repercussions be if United fail to beat Fulham:
"I want to be positive and think we are going to win but if we don't give credit to the people that deserve credit and the game is not going to be 11 against 0 it's going to be 11 against 11, good players in other side, I repeat the position, the points sometimes don't say much about the real potential of the team, one of the two most important managers in the history of the Premier League, so they have the potential to come here tomorrow and to give us a very different match."
Jose Mourinho has now been addressing whether guiding united to second in the Premier League table, with this squad, was a "great achievement".
It's a typically spikey response from the Portuguese manager.....
"I don't understand your question. Because I'm not speaking about our own situation but you can finish 10th, I'm not saying us, a team can finish 10th and a manager feels like a champion. "Correct? If you speak with David Wagner, Rafa Benitez, Claudio now, if you speak with them and tell them you are going to finish 10th they will feel like a champion, I made a fantastic job, "I stayed in front of teams with more potential than my team, last season we finished second and I felt we stayed ahead of teams with more potential than us."
Brazilian midfielder Fred was Manchester United's major summer signing.
But the £47m arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk has failed to make much of an impact so far and the 25-year-old wasn't even amongst the substitutes for Wednesday's draw with Arsenal.
Jose Mourinho has been explaining his absence - and pointing out that at Liverpool, neither Fabinho nor Naby Keita have become integral figures just yet.
It seems United fans can only expect to see the best of Fred when their defence improves.
"You have other players in other clubs that needed their time and some of them played even less than Fred.
"When the team is defensively stronger the horizons for Fred change completely."
It kind of begs the question why United bought him given it was the defence they need to strengthen last summer.
Mourinho on Pogba
“He’s not nessesarily a virus, I was a bit harsh when I called him that. Not like Ebola per se, more like an ear infection, the sort that makes you run like a giraffe on ice skates. He’s been training hard, up to level 67 on candy crush, and has increased his twitter followers despite his poor form. He’s likely to play. He wants to get to level 68.”
Mumbo Jumbo No 5 ! ,he never stops !
More from Jose on past games:
'We need to link the defence and attack better. Matic has been doing this superbly, but he can't do it on his own. If I could pick three Matic's in midfield every week I would.'
"Ranieri on the other hand has the mentality of someone who doesn’t need to win. He is almost 70 years old. He has won a Supercup and another small trophy and he is too old to change his mentality. He’s old and he hasn’t won anything. I studied Italian five hours a day for many months to ensure I could communicate with the players, media and fans. Ranieri had been in England for five years and still struggled to say ‘good morning’ and ‘good afternoon."
On Fred:
“He’s had a tough start, but he’s getting there. Ideally I need 2 partners for him and am looking at Rod and Jane. We have bungle already up front, and zippy Lingard can play in midfield too”

So much rubbish said here. Who buys this? And Matic links the defence with the offense?!!! Is he watching the same thing we all are?
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he is reluctant to pick summer signing Fred until his side are "defensively stronger".
...................
He would make the side defensively stronger you effing idiot. Groot doesn't make it defensively stronger. Matic doesn't make it defensively stronger.

I think he would make us both defensively and offensively stronger, as he is capable of doing both. Weird.
Looks like Mourinho is watching a different PL re. Fred.
Keeping clean sheets are history. The balance of play favours attack.
Every PL team conceded in the last round of PL matches netting one lucky punter £15k.
I think he would make us both defensively and offensively stronger, as he is capable of doing both. Weird.
.................
Last week he complained about the lack of bite in midfield, yet he continually plays Matic and Fellaini there.
The issues in defence and midfield are his own doing.
Don’t know what Jose is watching given his comments.
One way of defending is having the ball and he’s done nothing to address the problem of united losing possession more than I have seen them in over 36 years of watching them.

He also talked about not being able to transition into attack quickly enough, whilst picking Fellaini, Matic and Pogba on a regular basis. All of which slow down our attack. Meanwhile Pereira and Herrera can't get a game. He's a moron.

His comments are baffling.
You see on here united fans with better formations and squad selections than Jose is employing.
The way he’s not building a team around anyone or with any pace.
Martial should be starting and he’s destroyed rashfords confidence.
I’m not taking the Mick I actualy believe myself or some of you would get more of a tune out of that squad than Jose.

I think there is a very real possibility that this is the truth of the matter. It hasn't turned out for him how he had hoped at United. If the interest from Real Madrid is real, he could well be looking to get out ASAP.
