Zzzzzzz

Just nothing up front. Really good first half but this half has been a write off. All of the problems that have become a hallmark under Puel. No creativity, one shot on target at home, no real threat up front. It’s been similar with Vardy on the pitch at times as well

Here’s to another 9th place finish!

Too many players on the pitch who are just average attacking midfielders with the same style.

Bang average without Vardy in the team, even if he's starved of chances he still changes the whole outlook of the Team.

I'm sorry I must have been watching a different game tonite, the reaction by Claude to Spurs having their two best players on the bench is to change from the negative two defensive midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 with Vardy isolated is to go to a 4-5-1 with 3 defensive midfielders and Ian isolated. Result is we defend heroically for 45 minutes but unsurprisingly eventually get undone by a moment of quality.

So having failed with the negative approach the reaction is to keep us doing the same thing for the next 10 minutes. Then, being a goal down the next star move is to take off our striker and replace him with a midfielder ffs! This for the next 25 minutes during which time we're exposed on our right side where we have a winger attempting to play at RB, and leak a second killer goal.

Apologies if I'm missing something (my excuse is I've had a few beers today), but I would prefer us to have at least had a go at Spurs b4 the last 10 minutes.

Nuneaton, I can understand having a strong midfield against the 3rd best side in the league when our defence isn’t good enough. I think a lot of Puels reasoning is to try and protect a back 4 that frankly isn’t up to scratch

I’m beginning to wonder how much of what he does is to account for this. For the first 20 mins it worked well, but there’s no support for the lone striker and once Spurs cottoned on and changed their shape, the game was over.

It’s really hard to know what to make of it right now. I don’t think he has the back 4 he wants but he just doesn’t help himself with the safety first mentality.

The most frustrating thing this season is we don't have any striking options and its not a surprise when Vardy get injured we cant score but also we have not taken the chances when we get them and Vardy has been guilty of that. Probably because hes not recovered from his injury.

I would argue that between Nacho, Okazaki, Gray and Vardy our striking options have been fine.

I would argue that our tactic options to support them have been poor.

Useless.

Vardy’s been just fine terrorising opposition defences, it’s just that he rarely gets site of the ball, just the same for any other option.

I don’t think we have a good enough alternative to Vardy at all. Iheanacho looks terrible, he can’t control a ball or even lay it off.

That said I agree that our approach doesn’t give anyone who is playing as a striker a real chance. We have to be creating much more than we are.
