What is this shambles going on in the UK right now then with our awesome PM

Surely the most dysfunctional government on the planet currently, seem to be doing literally anything to distract from the task at hand.

Oh yes that was the game where Morgan the red nosed Redrow was on the pitch haranguing Mike Jones in a inebriated attempt to look like he gave a s**t.

The PM is a shambles, but I'm not sure it would have been much different whoever was in power, such is the massive split in the Tory party.

Theresa May will get all the blame, but it is David Cameron who should. He gave us the referendum as a policy to win an election, with no plan on how to implement leave if it happened. He called for this referendum in the attempt to win an election, with no idea on what would happen if Leave won. He then ran off at the first opportunity to protect his own reputation; knowing that the task ahead was nigh on impossible to achieve without alienating a large portion of the population; whatever the outcome.

It made me laugh how those that were pushing for leave stepped down the moment it happened, Boris Johnson for one as he wanted no part of it probably because he knew what was coming.

So is today an internal vote of confidence for May then?

posted on 12/12/18

Yeah, all the hard Brexiters spout a lot of rhetoric, but don't offer anything of substance. It is an internal vote of confidence from Conservative MPs I think today.

To be honest, I have grown completely apathetic to Brexit now. Its a right shambles and I just want it out of the news.

To be fair Cinci I think our far less than awesome PM is trying to get an impossible job done, its the opportunistic clowns she's surrounded by that are trying to distract her for their own political ends.

As for DC, he had no choice but to call for the referendum, once he had a majority, the euro sceptic Tory rump (comprising UKIPish Tory political opportunists, the landed gentry who stand to make marginal gains by being out of Europe and the morons who think its still 1940 and crave division) would have made his political life impossible if he hadnt promised and called it. He never expected to lose of course but here we are.

Cameron and May are just the puppet figure heads dancing to the tune of the establishment. But the saddest thing of all is that the common man fell for it thinking that Britannia could once again rule the waves. But of course the people behind all of this do not give a flying f**k about you Im afraid.

Yeah, i can't even watch the news anymore here due to every day just being the next extract of a Trump diary, CNN in particular is no longer a news channel.

hopefully the gormless racist 52% of voters and their pals on the far right of the tories will fook off and leave the country to the rest of us intelligent remainers to get ourselves back in the eu - if they'll have us

posted on 12/12/18

I certainly wouldn't support May's plan, but I don't think anyone else could have come up with a Brexit proposal that was supported to any greater degree. She was handed a poison chalice.

We seem to be moving from something that was far from perfect, to something that's a complete disaster

what the gormless brexiteers dont take into account is that a small country next to a big country is always dominated by it - and small is what we will be next to the giant that is the eu

At last CNN are highlighting the insane antics of an illietrate President who doesn't't have a clue what he's doing. I can't even watch Fox News anymore, especially Hannity, who is so far up Trump's ass, he could clean his teeth from the inside.

Not sure about other ex-pats' pensions, but mine has taken a huge hit, thanks to frigging Brexit.

We wont exactly be the Ukraine to the EU's Russia, but I see your point. Even worse we'll be dancing to both the EU and USA's tunes.

Since when has fox news been anything but propaganda?

I think a so called democracy should not allow news to be used by the rich to push their agenda.

Sunshine, it's good to know you demand more from the presidency.

Old boys news...

Ryan Bennett’s dad, Tom Bennett, who played for Wolves in defence and midfield, has a birthday today. ๐ŸŽ‚

Statement from Celtic FC this afternoon. (BR is Brendan Rogers)...

๐Ÿ’ฌ BR on @Leighgriff09: "Leigh will be out of football for a little period of time. He's had ongoing issues for a number of months. He's reached a point where it's a struggle for him. We are going to give him all the professional help he needs to get him back in a good place."

You mean Tom's not his Dad?

I saw Billericay play at Margate last season. It seems James is leaving as the club has tempered its ambitions, and the owner has how put it up for sale.

Nephew of mine has had a gambling problem, it's awful if your mind is wired that way and far too easy to get hooked in. Wall to wall ads on tv and social media need to be stopped, it's scandalous what the betting companies are being allowed to do to people's lives.

Going back a few years I know a couple of Wolves youngsters had their careers cut short through gambling problems. Regularly getting paid on a Friday then having to ask the club if they could borrow money a few days later to see them through the week. Ended up with the club not giving them anything but pocket money every week, and paying their accommodation costs directly. But it ruined their careers and their contracts were not renewed and they ended up playing in lower division clubs when they had the potential to do much better
