The vote of no confidence will pass. She’ll be encouraged to resign, rather than off her own back. Some other no mark will come in and we’ll end up leaving the EU with no agreement and a sour taste left behind.
=======
I'm not so sure she will lose the vote. Think there's enough Tories don't want to see a Johnson government. Personally think she will win it but will end up promising a second vote as a compromise.
In fairness to Corbyn:
If he called for a vote of no confidence then he would have lost. What is happening now from within the Tory party is different to the vote of no confidence that Corbyn could have triggered.
He cannot trigger a no confidence vote in the leader of another party, he can only trigger a no confidence vote in the government, which if passed would have meant another GE, not a new PM vote, and unless he could turn the DUP, then he would have lost and losing that vote would have actually strengthened May's position.
Much better to let the Tories year themselves apart with a vote of no confidence in their leader, followed by a bitter campaign to be next PM. He can always revisit the option to call for no confidence in the government after that shambles, once a brexiteer willing to cut NI adrift is in place, only then could he turn the DUP.
It would have been a terrible move by Corbyn to file no confidence in the government first.

Mick. Spot on.
That felt weird.

The whole thing has been a shambles from start to finish.

Amen. Let the fun begin!
She'll be right! Always look on the bright side of life.
I was having a think (which is dangerous) , this brexit vote took place in summer 2016. This was when Rangers got promoted back to the SPFL.
I dont believe in coincidences. It must all be Rangers fault. We should get hammered for this!
I think the UK should have disbanded the current Government as soon as the Brexit issue happened. If we had implemented a War Cabinet. is a committee formed by a government in a time of war. It is usually a subset of the full executive cabinet of ministers. It is also quite common for a war cabinet to have senior military officers and opposition politicians as members. The current government is acting in their own best interest to guarantee the parties survival after Brexit. A War Cabinet would only act in the countries bet interest here and politics within the UK could be bypassed to strengthen our position to negotiate here.
imagine if the brexit vote in 2016 had never taken place, what on earth would the uk be like today? The uk has been in limbo for 2 years it seems. The news every night for months, a year even has been about brexit. Imagine if that vote had never taken place in 2016. I wonder what the exchange rate of the pound would be? Would the UK be on the verge of a recession?
I would give you that argument Mick if it wasn't for the Shadow Scottish Secretary, among others, having a pop at the SNP last week suggesting that they wouldn't support a no-confidence vote in the Prime Minister.
Labour have lacked leadership on this - for reasons that are apparent. The Labour position on Brexit has been no clearer than the Tories. In fact I still struggle to piecemeal together what it is that Labour actually want to do. It's only been in the last week that they've sort-of, a wee bit, kinda moved towards supporting the so-called people's vote.
The SNP deserve criticism for a lot of things but on this they had their position clear from early doors. Labour still doesn't know their position and have no interest in putting down their position. This in my opinion has hastened us towards where we are now - there was no counter, no alternative, to this Tory created shambles. The polls have Labour behind and that for me makes the Labour leadership a disgrace.
would cameron still be in charge even?
U-boat is bang on. Brexit was a time of national crisis and it should have been a cross-party issue, with a cross-party group assigned to it. Instead the Tories made it a Tory-only issue (with a little bit of DUP stuff thrown in). That was the first in a catalogue of post-vote mistakes that were made.
Another crazy idea. Imagine Murray had not used the tax system back in the day, and just used the normal tax process, ie no big tax case etc.
How many league titles would rangers be on now?
what a strange last 5 or 6 years its been. Rangers in the bottom tier of scottish football, an indy vote in 2014 in scotland and then brexit in 2016.
The 90's and naughties were such normal stable times compared to these last 5 or 6 years.
actually looking back on things, the banks having to be bailed out was another crazy time. so its really been 10 years of chaos.

I have no confidence in Theresa May, but I have no confidence in any of them. Brexit has been a clearly stupid, deluded idea from the outset. It seems like the only way out now is another referendum, the problem there being that the electorate are idiots too. Every referendum we've had in my lifetime - the Alternative Vote, Indy, Brexit, we got it wrong. I fully expect another referendum would just see us double down on Brexit. I honestly see no way out of it. As for Labour, their backbenchers spent so long trying to bring down their leadership that even achieving a quiet stalemate in their own civil war is a big thing for them. The whole facking thing is a shambles, but it's a mess of our own collective making and the British public only has ourselves to blame.
Fvck people, they're a liability.
