An outside chance, albeit very slim. I said 49 points at the start of the season but fancy we could get a few more now, breaking 50 would be fantastic in our first season back

Brutal weather, train delayed, don't bloody care. Last minute goals are just things of utter joy.

Pretty much agree with DJ's assessment but thought MGW played well to be fair. Still some sloppy play and too many poor passes, we still need to be more positive and sharper. Conditions didn't help obviously but Bournemouth kept possession better than us particularly in our half. They were sloppy at the back surprising though and gifted us chances.

Jiminez was brilliant today, but until he got taken out Jota was nearly unplayable. Was surprised when he came off, many refs would have given the foul but he bottled it which gave Bennett licence to barge their guys off the ball at will.

7th after 17 though. I'll take that.

Yes oldgold be a real shame if Jota misses a few games just as he was getting to his best. From where I was sitting the tackle that resulted in his injury looked fair but like to see it again

The hold up play of Jiminez today was exceptional and it seems to suit him coming in from wide. As for MGW I thought he list possession a lot of times today but did have some good moments too including a great ball to set Costa free when he should have scored

No mention of that here in the UK. Not even in Middlesbrough papers. I’ve checked the Gazette and the Northern Echo.

Yeah, seems the news of his demise is premature.

League table looks good. Only clubs above us are Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, & Man Utd. That’s pretty Impressive.

The team got the same train back to London as us, maybe Xmas party or going to sports personality of the year?

well, I was about two months old the last time we won three in a row in the top flight. Yesterday was certainly overdue but this team have been worth the wait. I already knew a year ago that this was the best team of my lifetime, but still delight in every feat which confirms it. What a wonderful, wonderful team we have.

Let's make sure we back them all of the time...they deserve it...they've got talent, heart and dedication. That miss by Costa was very disappointing, but to him more than any one of us. The lad has got talent and we know he can show more composure in front of goal than he has of late so let's do what we can to help him show his best rather than make his job more difficult by grumbling and groaning and giving up on a bloke who is probably good enough to play for us for years to come regardless of the lofty ambitions.

Costa to me would always get the nod for a start over Cavaleiro and Traore who are at their best as impact subs. That’s not decrying either of them, it’s a 14 man team nowadays.

These last three games we have found a way to win without playing sparkling football. I think Nuno and the players learned a lot from those Cardiff and Huddersfield games and in the torrential rain yesterday it wasn’t a day for silky football just for digging in and getting the job done

Costa will come good again i am sure and hopefully the last ten mins yesterday is the form he carries over to next week.

I just don't think he deserves a spot ahead of others right now until he refinds his form though Nuno obviously thinks he has to just play him through his bad patch.

We were 7th in mid October and after that poor run of results we have now got back to that position. Apart from meeting one of the top two teams in the country we will also have the challenge on Friday of trying to win a Premier League match for the first time this season without Diogo Jota in the starting 11.

Need to follow Crystal Palace’s example as they won yesterday for the first time in over 2 years when Zaha has not been in their team

posted on 16/12/18

The question is who gets to start to replace Jota, assuming that he is not available on Friday.
For me it would be Cavaleiro although I'm sure some would prefer Traore.
Or will Costa drop to the bench and Bonatini come back in to play up front with Jimi?

posted on 16/12/18

Personally I wouldn’t do any of those things. Liverpool are going to dominate the ball against us and I would replace Jota with Saiss and play a 5 man midfield, with MGW or Costa playing behind Jiminez.

If Nuno wants to keep the same shape I suspect it will be Costa for Jota
