2 Defensive midfielders?

If you support Puel you don't really want that, Mendy is his favourite and Ndidi generally too good to sacrifice for Mendy so they both stay in.

Why don't we play N'didi much further forward? He is a decent threat in opposition halfs. Saying that, could we then really rely on Mendy to protect the back 4 like Kante used to do? No.

No, Leicester aren't about attacking, we're about slow ponderous play from out of he back, why push Ndidi up?

To give Maddison more support which gives Vardy more support.

Which gives us as a team more threat.

But why?

We're about possession and playing football these days, not about being an attacking threat!

The problem is that N’didi can’t pass or shoot.

Puel OUT

I think he can Blackstarr. N'didi needs to get on the edge of the oppositions box much, much more and shoot more often.
If he gets 2 or 3 goals in successive games he will gain confidence by the bucket load.
He seems stifled in our set-up?

His shooting is terrible though. I mean he really gets it below row z when he takes a shot

Everybody on this board knows that the players at our disposal can do better than this, this season.

It's so frustrating.

Yes but that doesn’t mean N’didi can shoot.

It doesn't Blackstarr, correct.
I think he lacks loads when defending across the back 4. Seems scared to put a block or tackle in. Looks much better further up the pitch imo.

Disappointing result. Very disappointing.
Palace without Zaha or Benteke.
We should be getting at least a point here with all due respect to Palace.

We should be putting 2 or 3 past a team who have won 1 in 11 Premier League games and missing 3 KEY Men.

Still, we did do a couple of pretty passes.

Ndidi's passing will cost him a career at a bigger club. It's shocking.

Your Honour.
Reckon he is going through his own mini crisis tbf.

Agree with op Mendy has done fairly well this season but there isn't a need for both him and Ndidi in there.

We are crying out for someone like an Aaron Mooy. Someone who can spray the ball and create from deep whilst his partner does the Kante role. Ndidi has been poor this season and needs to be dropped/rested/call it what you like. Mendy has done well this season and has been consistently in our top 3 performers. He does his job very well and is the closest we have had to Kante since he left.

We also need better quality in the wide areas. Albrighton is fine but his crossing ability is wasted when Vardy is our target man. Gray continues to blue hit and (mostly) cold and is wasting his chance at being our go to wide man. Ghezzal has improved but I'm still not convinced that he is good enough. I'm torn on whether to bring Barnes back - he has been excellent at West Brom and would probably walk into our team right now. But I worry that bringing him back into a team that might well be going into January in poor form and with zero momentum will have an adverse effect on his development. For that reason I think I would rather let him see out a full season at West Brom and reap the rewards next season.

I don’t think it’s necessarily about “the players at our disposal”. It’s the way Puel wants it. That’s why he was so keen on playing Matty James when he was fit - another energetic defensive midfielder along with Ndidi and Mendy.

Really, Iborra should be playing pretty much every minute he can. He’s the only one confident enough to pick up forward passing. But he doesn’t have the engine that Puel demands.
