No excuses for Puel, the team dont know how to score a goal. How can you take Maddison off at half time, our ONLY creative player. Fuchs looked like the only player capable of creating a goal, absolutely useless.

What makes me very angry is the absolute lack of creativity in our team despite a wealth of attacking talent.

I feel for Vardy, and I just don’t understand why we’re incapable of creating scoring chances with this squad.

Something isn't right between the players & manager.
It should be clicking right now after all this time.

Ranieri Tinkerman? Not anymore!

Would love to hear from Foxello today. Not because I’m goading him, but because we’ve taken quite a bit of stick from him and been labelled hysterical over the last few weeks.

Is he starting to feel the same way as us after successive defeats and such a limp performance against a team in free fall today? What if we get no points from Man City and Chelsea (entirely possible) and start the new year in 13th on the back of 4 straight defeats. Would that start convincing him that we aren’t hysterical and this isn’t progress?

If we can hold um to a draw at their place I think we might beat Newport at home in the cup

I can take it from cinci and tamwolf, but not Sir Halfwit. That’s just too far

Today is the first time this season where I feel the same way I did at the end of last season - that Puel has the right ideas, but is unable to get them across to the players.

The performance today, against a bang average side without their one standout player, was just not good enough and I think you would struggle to find anyone who can excuse it. Too many players in this team do not provide anything in an attacking sense. Puel has confirmed on RL that Maddison's substitution was tactical, which is completely bemusing. He's probably the only player in this side who can make something out of nothing, so to take him off just makes no sense. I can't see the logic with that one.

I still feel that the events of the last few weeks may be having some underlying psychological effects. To lose someone who you would see all the time and who was like a father figure, especially in such a tragic accident just a few feet from your workplace, will have an effect on you for weeks, maybe months, maybe even years. For this reason I am perhaps more accepting of the players faults and failings than some others are, but there does come a time when you have to acknowledge that performances and results aren't good enough.

I still feel that the Puel project has had some success and can continue to have more, but I accept that I am in a shrinking minority and that the chances of it continuing are reducing. I hope now that we treat the cup quarter final with the respect it deserves. It could be a season defining game for us. Win and we maintain some momentum that can take us forward, even if our immediate league form continues to be form. It would also give the fans, who are very miserable right now, something to hold on to. Lose and it risks our fairly solid season becoming a miserable damp squib, and it would give Top a decision to make. I am sure he would not be wanting to make that decision so soon into his Chairmanship, and I suspect the idea of firing Puel is one that is currently not palpable, but if we do go into free fall he may feel that he has to.

Wolves, in their first season, already look like a team we need to be aspiring to

Wolves are average at best, overhyped, you won the PL. All teams should be aspiring to youse.

Foxello

You’ve had some strong views on the fans who are opposing Puel which is fair enough but to come on here after a result which perhaps confirms some of our worst suspicions about everything is pretty admirable. I don’t expect to be hearing from some others right now let’s put it that way

It’s also refreshing to see that you are willing to change your views based on how performances and results evolve. Again it’s another trait sadly lacking from some.

It’s hard to know what to think right now. We clearly have the attacking talent and the pace up front to cause a real problem but Puels philopsophy just doesn’t suit the players we have. That is in part down to the club for not really having a clear vision of where they want to go as a side and acting in harmony in the transfer market with the manager they have appointed. It’s a confusing mess right now

I honestly believe that without someone externally advising Top, we are in danger of getting rid of Puel and then bringing in a no better replacement with a transfer policy that doesn’t match

Truth be told we have been in an identity crisis since the moment we won the title. And losing Walsh was a big part of that for me

There was a time when that was the case but not anymore. We’re becoming the next Southampton when we should be aiming to be Everton.....

Oh listen, I still feel that some of the Puel Out guys are reactionary and borderline hysterical at times. On the RL phone in, one suggested that Sam Allardyce should come in (one of a very small handful of managers who I can honestly say would make me seriously consider just not supporting Leicester anymore) and another who moaned about Puel's accent and said that he 'doesn't speak English' (communication may be an issue, but to say that he can't speak English is just untrue). But I accept that the criticisms over his substitutions and overall playing style are perfectly reasonable and I am starting to have sympathy with that.

One thing I will disagree with you on is about the 'attacking quality' we have. I'm not convinced we do. We have one very good striker and one very good attacking midfielder and that's about it. We have not alternative to Vardy and our wide options are largely poor. Our best attacking outlets this season have been our full backs. These are issues that we have had since the title win, by the way.

I agree foxello the more I think about it. The club has been poor in the transfer market for some time. Gray has not developed as we hoped and Albrightons best days are behind him. Diabate has been dropped by Puel completely and Ghezzal was a poor signing.

I still think though that another manager could get more from that lot. We have pace up front but we aren’t using that pace at all. We could press teams but we don’t. We could really go for the jugular and that would go along way to creating more chances

That’s my issue BS. Puel is now taking our best players backwards. Players like Maddison and Vardy that can change a game are isolated or struggling.

Ndidi who was at one point out best player looks broken.

Gray won’t step up but continually starts.

His ponderous slow football is archaic, and ineffective. It just isn’t working.

For me, Puel needs to move away from this stupid system and way of playing, or he needs to go.

Personally, my patience has run out. Call me hysterical Foxello but I’ve been watching us go backwards for some time now. I’m actually concerned we’re goong to get sucked in to a relegation battle. There’s far too many signs that things just aren’t right.

Personally, I want us to be researching managers and creating a sucession plan for Puel in the summer. Someone like Howe, or a young foreign manager that has an ethos and style that can fit our squad and evolve it.

Puel, for me anyway, should be gone no later than the summer.

I think the club will be torn on this. Vichais philosophy was to create a project where young players were developed etc which is admirable. I think that philosophy is taking us away from what made us so great and I believe we should have been truer to our identity as an attacking, pressing, hard working team and signed better players

Because of that decision though to effectively throw away that style of football, I fear Top will give Puel more time. Much more time

My normal standpoint is to support the manager. I however have grave doubts about Claude and what he's doing. I can't see much of a plan other than to get the posession stats up by playing slow ponderous safety first football. Starving the front man of any support so we only typically have one shot on target in the 85th minute.

I'm not panicking because we've managed to harvest enough points to keep us out of trouble for the time being; I'm not sure how to be honest, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if we were to drop into the relegation mire.

I can't see what Puel's medium/long term aim is, I've asked for enlightenment and nobody, even his arch-disciple Nev, has been able to assist. Does Claude even know himself?

As to a decision for Top, a poor second half of the season with a struggle in the League and early exits from the cups would go a long way to helping him make up his mind.
