I'd say that's the order of importance
I doubt we'll sign anybody in January, clubs will not want to let their best players leave mid season, particularly those still involved in Europe, and if they are willing to deal they will want silly money which Levy won't pay.
Ideally I'd like another striker and a centre midfielder or 2, but we'll have to shift some of our foreigners first as I'm fairly sure we are at max.
Also, bringing in a couple of Liverpool's referees would not go amiss.
Absolutely no way will we find someone who can do a better job as a second choice striker than Son.

Exactly. Look at Leicester away. No way is some kid from the Dutch league anywhere near his level.
Kane has been injured and we have been absolutely fine. Son lead the line when we comfortably beat Chelsea away last year.
CM and full backs are clearly where our weaknesses are. With a prime Rose, Walker and Dembele of a couple of years ago we would be genuine title/champions league contenders. But in this market and with the stadium we just won't be splashing out on getting these players.

as I said earlier we lack the ambition to be serious title challengers

I'd like to see a replacement striker come in, but it's a difficult one because they'd need to be good enough that they're going to make a difference and that will usually mean having to spend a lot of money. If it were one of the top clubs they wouldn't think twice about splashing cash to get in another top striker just to make them as good as possible.
No offence Don, but bringing another young striker from the Dutch league doesn't fill me with confidence after Janssen. It's still a weak league that can make attacking players look better than they are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of which... where the hell is Janssen?! He's still on our books, and we haven't loaned him out have we? What a waste of a career!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure but I think he's disappeared into another dimension. Not good enough for Spurs though.
I love Son but we shouldn't be stuck believing that between him and Llorente it's as good as we can get after Kane. For one thing Son needs to prove to be more clinical in these big European ties. His finishing was a let down against Juve and against Inter.

100%. That's if we keep important players
Morning chaps.
In theory we'd only be interested in signing home based players, because we've hit our quota for overseas players in the CL. So if we were to sign anyone who wasn't home based we'd have to sell someone (or they'd not be eligible for the CL, which is possible I suppose).
Llorente is in the CL squad so you never know, he could be sold and replaced.
also Poch said this last week:
"I would not be disappointed if we didn’t sign anyone,” Pochettino said. “I know very well that January is always difficult and look what happened to different players that arrived last January. It takes time to understand and perform, to fit with the team.
“Sometimes it’s better not to sign if you don’t find the right player. And players who maybe don’t play too much need to go and play in another club. Maybe the best decision is to send them on loan or sell them.”
Don, have a read of this, might help manage your expectations

merry christmas all!!
Notso, was never even expecting anything anyway mate. But if Pochettino is not backed this summer, then there will be murders.
I wish Levy was honest with the fans beforehand instead of telling our supporters “ the stadium won’t impact our transfers” lies.
