Karanka under pressure

Bringing on Dias was a bizarre decision and really shows a lack of judgement by the manager.

If you're the owner, are you about to spend a fortune in January when the manager's job in under review in the summer?

That is one way of thinking, but do you continue backing a manager without some sort of half season review?

Could the three Portugese do for Aitor what the three Italians did for Platt?

Just hope Randall can calm things down, and the owner stops sending us cast off Olympiakos dross.

Has the owner told the manager he must play Dias? it's the only explanation

Would be a crazy decision. Supposedly the fat Greek bloke has improved some aspects of the club but this would indicate he isn’t any more rational than Fawaz. Does he go to the games?

He started off bang average and hasn’t improved at all since. I wouldn’t be surprised if the contract stipulates he must be involved in every squad. As for that Tachsidis farce...

The squad is bloated due to a number of players being signed who clearly weren’t Karanka’s idea. Always a situation that leads to internal strife as they don’t cut the mustard and are sidelined. I also hope Randall can do his job and get the lid back on and stop it all from boiling over and nailing what has been, on the whole, a decent season.

Can’t help that this speculation has been pushed by the Greeks to see what kind of reaction it gets across the supporter base.

If he really has lost the dressing room we will know on Saturday. A poor display he will be gone. A good display and bring home the points will mean the players are behind him and he will stay.

A win on Saturday could move us up above 'boro who are currently in fifth

Chippers is saying it is in the balance.

Bloody hell calm down forest. Just think twice before making this decision. We are in a good position, and we have janauary coming up. Just think where we have been in previous seasons!

Yes today's result was dissapointing but we still got a draw at the team in second place away!!!

Would make less sense than when we sacked O’driscoll, ironically on Boxing Day if I remember. Under AK we are definitely making steady progress, it will take time, but he MUST be given at the very least this season. A run at the play off’s is still possible, but in reality we are probably a season away from being ready. We are in a much better position than when he arrived, get rid of some of the ‘dead wood’, bench a couple of others and move on. Unfortunately he has brought this speculation on with one questionable substitution,Dias for Cash, who was on a hat trick. Crazy substitution.

His tactics against qpr now make sense to throw three strikers on.

If we were ten points off then OK yes that is a problem but we are only three points off and have janauary to come!

Just THINK Forest!!!!

Would be a really stupid decision. We are close to being a very good side. Give him the chance to prove it, slim down the squad a bit and sign a defender and we could easily finish top 6. Unfortunately so could 10 other sides and the top 3 are a step above us.

We are getting pretty difficult t beat, at east away from home, 1 defeat away emphasises that, sadly it was in London, where we obviously go next. Sort out the home form and we will be in a good position. We couldn’t possibly attract a better manager atm than AK. Sacking now would show we are more chaotic off the field than we are on it. Don’t panic.

Just read an article I Daily Telegraph saying AK is facing the sack as he has failed to get in top 6 by Jan 1.
So we could be in top 6 Jan 1 and lose a couple of games and he’d no longer be facing the boot - what?!!

Leave him alone, he’s doing a brilliant job!

Looks like it Will.

When it finally looks like we are turning a corner off the pitch there is an owner waiting in the wings to dissapoint you.

I wish they would at least have the conviction to come out and say if we do not get top 6 by January then we are sacking the manager.

It just seems crazy given we are so close to the playoffs and overall are still doing a good job. I fully believe with some backing in janauary we will be in the top 6 come May even if the top two is beyond us. Even still that is a good achievement given where we have been over the last seven seasons.

28,000-29,000 fans at the CG on a regular basis, club shop is buzzing on a match day. The club hasn’t been in a better position in the last 15 years, DO NOT PANIC NOW, and risk destroying it all AGAIN.

Some French guy, linked to Monaco is being touted as a replacement. Smacks of Montanier, and we all know how that ended. The Greeks MUST understand, they are football people as well as businessmen, that you do not/can not buy your way to the Prem in 1 year, it takes time and stability.

You are probably talking about Leonardo Jardim, Dave.

Portugese (I think) mate of Mendes. Also worked at Olympiakos.

Now it is starting to make sense.

His record is not bad to be fair, although not managed in England.

But:

DON'T SACK AITOR

We are still pretty bang average in many matches. Not clinical enough and at times easily priced apart at the back. The tactical decisions yesterday were utterly bemusing. Can only agree with those that think there is some stipulation that Dias must play. Why is Bridcutt sidelined?

With the above in mind, I hope Karanka is given more time. He needs to be backed in the window - strengthen the defence and forward line. Apart from Grabban, our strikers offer little. What on earth has happened to Soudani?! Is Gomis ready for some game time and what about using Appiah as an option?

Needs to cull again - Dias and Goncalves to be returned. Murphy to look for a fresh challenge, a few midfielders to stretch their legs elsewhere.

We are only 5 points better off than we were this time last year, but we are an ongoing project. Was furious after the match yesterday, but realise we need to back Karanka for a longer stint.
