Didn’t realise he was Portuguese, thanks for that, and agree it is starting to make (non) sense. Totally agree with the articles above, AK is a bit stubborn and at times maybe a little naive, but to sack him as the NEP have said would be ‘Ludicrous’, they don’t get much right but they did this. Drop Darikwa, as stated get shut of Dias and Goncalves, bring in another striker, Soudani looks like his season is finished, and at THE VERY LEAST wait till May. Another manager now, X amount of new players, can’t get rid of some we are stuck with, and FFP would again loom large.

Will Karanka want to stick around now? He knows the owner is at least exploring other options to replace him. At Boro he went on strike when his nose was put out of joint. Once the relationship between owner and manager is fractured it is rarely repaired. Trust is lost and it becomes only a matter of time.

Got to hope Marinakis restricts his tomfoolery to Olympiakos.
Back Karanka and leave him to work on the project. Never expected promotion this season, just an improvement on the past few seasons and some much needed stability.

I think Karanka’s problem is that the squad is far too big. He clearly stated that he wanted to trim the squad a lot more than he has managed to date. Six months into the season and some of those who haven’t been in with a sniff of the team are starting to get restless at their lack of opportunity. A few moany texts to the chairman and owners coupled with some unfortunately iffy results at a crucial time of the season lead to rumours such as these.

If Karanka stayed he wanted a trimmer squad, I can’t see any logic in the signings of the likes of Tachsidis. One of the players admitted earlier in the season that they had too many players at training to for everyone in the drills. Bound to vex Karanka as it would be an administrative nightmare for him and his coaches to get the quality of training and tactics work done that they would like. If some players are only here in “work experience” how committed to Karanka’s plan are they likely to be?

I suspect Tachsidis is actually a mole in the camp and would be my guess as to where the rumours of “dressing room unrest” have come from.

Don’t sack Aitor has been trending on that burst social media thingy. Hope the powers that be read the mood correctly as they could be about to make a monumental error. The way the ground has been buzzing on match days in a way it hasn’t for several years is testament to the good work that has been done so far. I would hope that it isn’t taken for granted as this supporter base has suffered too many fools recently and I could see crowds drop dramatically if the wrong path is taken. It would be such a shame. My lad has loved seeing the CG full and buzzing like it used to when I was young.

Tachsidis acting as some kind of Trojan horse....

Rumours of this Monaco guy as well are not good.

How many people want to stay at a place when they know the owner is planning for their removal?

It isn't going to help and in itself could derail our promotion chances.

Did it start to turn sour when Marinakis sent over his director of football guy? AK had his sulk about the same time.

In other matters; next week I'd like to see Smith, Appiah, Yates, out on loan (with recall options); Watson, Bridcutt, Tachtsidis, Goncalves, Dias, Ansarifard out permanent; and Ibe (loan), Jota (from brum) and Forestieri in

Forest cannot sack Karanka because his whole first team coaching squad and backroom staff will exit with him!

Last time I looked the Academy Coaching Staff had been thinned out too.
Even the G/K coach left when Karanka arrived.

Can we, as a club, and fans, please just go 12 months without a systematic meltdown.

Could we be doing better? Yes.
Is it realistic, when we were battling relegation last season? No

Karanka and the player have both been inconsistent but we are a far more improved outfit than 12 months ago. Arguably the portragesse experiment has failed and both carvalho and Dias have arguably leaned closer to liability than effective. The issue is cash, who who is usually flagging after 70 minutes, and Osborn, who is the new whipping boy are the only real competition they have.

Not in a ‘splash the cash’ way but these problems can be addressed in January, and karanka’s recruitment outside of the mendes experiment has been pretty spot on. A similar clearout to Janurary last year and two astute recruitments and we could be dangerous.

We’re not as far off as the moronic twitter mob thinks we are

Some really good well thought out points put across by all contributors. I sincerely hope the players really put in a shift at Millwall at the weekend, it’s a horrible place to go and have to perform, their fans are notorious for giving a hard time, we really need to ‘stand up and be counted’, the problem is Leeds on New Year’s Day is going to be even tougher. Let’s everyone get behind AK, for the sake of the club, and then we can hopefully move forward with more confidence. 2 defeats and he will certainly be history with look of things. 2 really tough games a head.

Rumours flying about that karanka has been sacked.

I am hoping it is just some saddos trying to get some attention then being true.

I think things are settling down a little and the gutter press aren’t getting the stories they want. Senior players have put it out there that there is no dressing room split and they’re all behind Karanka. If you think about it, they’re in a decent position as a squad to have a crack at the play offs as it stands, so it is in their best interests to back the manager and knuckle down. That’s if they know what is good for them...

Aitor needs two big performances from the team and the supporters. There is no team we can't beat in this division.

NYD could be huge. Full house, top opposition, bit of needle from the away game. I'm sure the supporters will be singing Aitor's name for ninety minutes (wether he is there or not.) Hopefully Forza Garibaldi will have something planned - flag day at least.
