Mine was Fifa 95 on sega mega drive, my uncle had it, the players on each team were all made up namesI had Fifa 96 on Sega and it was good at the time, I used to always run on the wing and shoot and score most times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was the easiest way to score on both 95 and 96.
I think Fifa98 RTWC was the best football game there has been. Had every single country in the world on it, qualified and won the WC with Fiji
Not sure what the game was called. But it was on sega and the main thing I remember was that you could keep heading the ball to yourself as you ran the length of the pitch to the goal. No defenders were able to stop you

Think thst may have been the first Fifa on Sega, I defo remember doing exactly that, and think it was the same game where you could run out wide and then hit a lobbed pass and it would lob the keeper every time.

That was the first one where you could only score by running to the corner of the eighteen yard box and shooting into the top corner. My uncle banned me from his house once due to that game. He used to beat me with United all the time, he was a huge United fan, actually it seemed to me he was a huge Cantana fan rather than United, he worshipped him. Played Sunday league with his collar up and everything.
One day i'd had enough of him scoring with Cantona(can't remember his name in the game but he was number 7 and supposed to be Cantona) and he kept saying 'ohh ah Cantona' etc. after he scored. So I went into France when my uncle was at work and transferred Cantona into Liverpool. We began the game when he got home and he was like wtf, you've got Cantona, wtf have you done. Then I scored with him and the inevitable 'ohh ah Cantona' came. He turfed me out and called my mum furious, telling her I was barred from his house. He was in his 30s

Italia 90, where it looked like you were heading the ball but you were actually kicking it?
Talking of Italia 90. Did anyone play the arcade version of it? It also had same format with Eurpean Club teams as well (think they took the english ban from Europe literally

Really? Never knew of that version. It was a woeful game to be honest, mainly because I was woeful at it. No matter how much I played it, I lost. I couldn't pass and I couldn't dribble and scoring was impossible.
Can't remember what the name of the first one I was good at was called but I remember playing as Linfield a few times and other times going in and changing the names of players to get new signings in or something. May have been sensible soccer.
Kenny Dalglish Football Manager on the spectrum! Loved this game, even had Subbuteo cups that I’d display when I won!!
Match Day II was the first "proper" footie game I remember playing on the Speccy 48k.
Emlyn Hughes was a great game though. Also, Striker, Tracksuit Manager, Football Director, FM, CM etc stole years of my life between them.
I can't remember the game or the computer (a lad on the road had it) but there was a game and before each match it would have an image of a presenter in a TV studio and his mouth would be moving and text would come up saying who was about to play, his watch used to tick too that's why I remember it for some reason
Anyone have an idea? I think it was just international teams so may have been some italia 90 game

International Superstar Soccer on the SNES. Remember the worst team in that game was Belgium. Argentina the best.
The first football game I owned came on a six game cartridge for the Mega Drive, it was called “Sega Soccer” but was basically WC Italia 90. The other game’s were Sonic, Streets of Rage, Super Monaco GP, Revenge of Shinobi and Columns (Tetris).
It was one of those awful games which was shot from above, FIFA International was the first one I enjoyed, the first FIFA game ever, I think. FIFA 96 was when it got serious.
There was a brilliant game named European Club Soccer, the gameplay wasn’t as good as some other games but you had more teams to choose from and the kits were more detailed.
Once you’d won a European competition it would unlock another one and so on, they had little picture cut-scenes too, really enjoyable game.
Kick off 2 was my favourite. I’ve hardly played computer games since the commodore Amiga was around

Yeah it was Fifa International in 94.
Yeah 96 was the game changer for Fifa with the real names, even though it still had that silly thing where you just ran to the corner of the box and scored into to top corner, then blasted the buttons so it shouted 'goal!'.

I used to play “properly” until about the 85th minute and then abuse the corner shot if I was losing. There was also a thing were if you fould someone and quickly kicked the ball out of play the ref didn’t give it.
FIFA 95 had a bunch of weird optional features, one of them was this invisible wall all around the pitch so the ball would never go out of play, the opposing team turning to statues so you could just dribble ‘round them abd no fouls.

Anyone remember the FIFA game (94 or 95) where the ref would chase your player round the pitch if you ran off whilst he was booking you?
