Probably the most interesting comparisons are those of Afobe v Jimenez and Douglas v Jonny
Currently Jimenez has 20 appearances, 6 goals and 4 assists.
Jonny has 17 appearances, 1 goal, 0 assists
So Jimi, with 5 less appearances, has scored the same number of goals in the prem that Afobe has scored in the championship and has 2 more assists.
Pretty much vindicates Nuno for shipping out Benik and replacing him with Jimi I would say.
I don't think there was ever a comparison with Afobe and Jimenez to be fair, much fairer comparing Afobe with Bonatini and i think Afobe would offer more from the bench when we need a goal than Bonatini ever will. That said 12 million in the bank is an even better option.
Zyro has a bad injury again by the way and will be out some time.
Fair to say we have not missed a single player we have gotten rid of.
Jarvis just gone to Walsall
Never thought Afobe was good enough for the Premier League and nowadays is struggling to be a good championship striker. Berahino keeps him out of the team some weeks! Know a few potters fans and safe to say they aren’t impressed. And they aren’t impressed with me telling them he would be a good signing at that level.
Been disappointing that Enobakhare hadn’t even been selected as a sub most weeks although Kilmarnock have been doing well. Doesn’t look good for his career
I think Jordan Graham is at Oxford.
Yes Grahame unofficially left Ipswich the day Lambert arrived at Ipswich, with the manager’s blessing. He had been training with Oxford since and officially joins them today. Oxford have James Henry on the other wing
Out on loan for this season, either until January or June and then we have 7 out on loan at Jumilla
Harry Burgoyne (on loan to Plymouth Argyle)
Danny Batth (on loan to Middlesbrough)
Ben Goodliffe (on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge)
Aaron Hayden (on loan to Stourbridge)
Connor Johnson (on loan to Walsall)
Roderick Miranda (on loan to Olympiacos)
Phil Ofosu-Ayeh (on loan to Hansa Rostock)
Jordan Graham (on loan to Ipswich Town)
Christián Herc (on loan to FC DAC 1904)
Sherwin Seedorf (on loan to Bradford City)
Connor Ronan (on loan to Walsall)
Benik Afobe (on loan to Stoke City)
Aaron Collins (on loan to Colchester United)
Bright Enobakhare (on loan to Kilmarnock)
Paul Gladon (on loan to Sint-Truiden)
Joe Mason (on loan to Portsmouth)
Rafa Mir (on loan to Las Palmas)
Michał Żyro (on loan to Pogoń Szczecin)
No point keeping any of those players (except maybe Burgoyne). After they finish their loans get what we can or in some cases just release them. Wasn't Herc signed when we were in League 1?
Herc must be getting now - on loan to FC DAC since 1904
What happened to that Tank guy?

Not really interested in all the U21 players to be honest. The point of this thread was to highlight how first team players that were deemed not good enough were getting on and which ones were imminently due to return to Compton.

Kindon? Retired I think. Used to play darts with him in the Molineux Hotel. (Had to sharpen his head so he'd stick in the board.) Ha Ha. And we had a few nights out too. I should write my memoirs...

I think he means Duckens Nazon Bute?
I think he means the fella called Tank. Jamie was it?
Anyway RJ how did the Asian trip go in the end?
No I think he means James Tank who we signed from Walsall. Came with a decent reputation but just wasn't good enough. Went to Leamington after leaving us and last I heard was at Rushden & Diamonds
Duckens Nazon is with Gladon at the Belgian club Sint-Truiden, both aren't getting much game time.

Yeah meant Jamie Tank, love how our scouts can sniff out a non league player from League 1 team, that takes skill.
Asia was good, thanks. Thailand was what I expected and had a great time going to various temples at day then various bars at night. One place in particular always had a couple of good bands on.
Vietnam I'm sad to say was absolutely awful (Ho Chi Minh specifically) and perhaps I would have been better off going to Hanoi instead. Nothing went wrong just the place itself was hell on earth so that was a long 4 days.
Cambodia thankfully was brilliant and by far my favourite so saved the best until last which was a nice way to finish things. Siem Reap had some great bars and going to the temples at Angkor Wat was the highlight of the trip. Flying from Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap took less than an hour and the difference between the two places is immeasurable. I would recommend Cambodia to anyone who hasn't been, if I had more time there then I would have gone to Phnom Penh as well.
I had absolutely no issues getting around, everything ran like clockwork. I doubt I'l be back that way anytime soon but one day would like to go to Malaysia and a few other places.
Nice one, glad you enjoyed it overall. What was wrong with Vietnam then mostly? Just shatty place?
We might actually head that way in April time and knock out Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and probably Bangkok for her benefit as i have been a few times to Thailand. Hoping to squeeze in Myanmar for a few days as well.
Some friends of mine just came back from Vietnam rjc and loved it. Maybe went to different places to you
Noticed that trip advisor recently announced their worldwide hotels of the year for 2018 and a Cambodian hotel finished 1st and another one 11th. One in Hanoi was 10th. The top one was Viroths in Siem Reap
Cambodia is actually top of my list of places I want to go in that region. Vietnam probably second. Would like to visit Thailand, but not as bothered by it as the other two.
I loved Siem Reap - the hotels are stylish and not expensive. I expect you had a few beers in the imaginatively named "Pub Street". I also enjoyed Ho Chi Minh (or Saigon as it used to be known) in Vietnam. I

Thailand both stereotypically and in reality is very busy but it's bearable and you just have to be safe and keep your wits about you. The traffic in HCM was just obscene and made Bangkok look like a quiet Sunday in comparison also in Bangkok there seemed a rhyme and reason to things whereas in HCM I saw two moped crashes (thankfully not serious) and just didnt feel safe at all.
That was a big part of it but the other issue was that there was practically nothing to do which I know sounds ridiculous as HCM is the capital but I can list the 4 things from memory:
1) Mini Notre Dame that foreigners aren't allowed into
2) Post Office right next to the mini Notre Dame that looks cool but is still just a Post Office
3) A random pink church that again foreigners are not allowed into
4) The war palace (forget the official name) that was shut for a military procession the days I was in Vietnam so that was annoying as I'm fairly certain tourists were allowed in.
Bar street was horrible especially after 5 nights in Bangkok. Again massively crowded and really narrow which didn't help, loads of traffic going down all night and although Bangkok had beggars and prostitutes coming over to you now and then you got used to it but in HCM it felt like every 30 seconds you'd have someone else trying to get you to give them cash.
Before I went I had looked on various websites about where to stay and all said that for tourists the best district to stay is 1 or 3 so I chose 1 and walked a fair bit each day all around and into different districts but there was honestly nothing of note. I had the s**ts for one of the days from something I ate on Bar Street so that was another mark against it.
It's most likely completely different on the coastal parts which I may well have preferred in retrospect and I don't like being overly negative but I just found it that bad that I would probably say it's the worst place I've ever been to and couldn't leave due to other flights already being booked. I did look at flying to Hanoi and then to Siem Reap but the total journey time was something like 15 hours so I stuck it out unril the Monday when thankfully my flight out was 9:30am and into blissful Cambodia.
Oh yeah, all 3 places had issues with pollution and litter etc but once again HCM had the others beat by a landslide and it was the only one where I saw rats that had zero fear of humans/traffic. It was a dump.
