Tonight’s game looks like a great opportunity to consolidate our position in the top half of the table and we will be 7th again if we win. But Palace’s last away match saw them win at Man City so they are clearly not a team to be taken lightly

With Kortney Hause set to sign for Villa this week there is speculation of a transfer in the other direction. Tammy Abraham has been doing a great job as a striker this season and scored again yesterday. It is rumoured now that Chelsea may recall him in January and then loan him out again but this time to give him premier league experience. And it’s thought Wolves would be interested in taking him for the rest of the season

Now that Nuno has stopped fielding the same 11 every game it will be interesting to see how he shuffles the pack for this one. On current form, and if Jota is fit, I would say his strongest starting 11 would be:

........................Pat
Benny...........Coads.........Willy
Doc..................................Jonny
.........Mouti............Roman
Starbucks........Jimi..........Jots

Would agree with that apart from Neves for Saiss. I think Romain is one to consider for the games against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool where we are playing off the back foot. Need to be more positive tonight and take the game to Palace. And although Neves and Moutinho were both rested for one game over the holiday period they are by far our best midfield players

Happy new year all, trust you've all had a good holiday.

Should win tonight, but a few variables at play; possible post Wembley hangover, awful weather - sub zero temps predicted tonight and couple of injury doubts in Jota and Traore .

Add in a wily old fox like Woy and a whinging old woman like Zaha and you've got danger.

Have a feeling that this could turn out to be similar to Fulham in that they get organised and let us try and break them down then try and hit us on the break. Still reckon we'll beat them though.

I can see why Chelsea would want Abraham to test himself again in the Premier League, he's got nothing to prove at championship level, his record is excellent.

His time at Swansea is difficult to judge him on as they were generally dire and were changing manager every couple of months. Just not sure what's in it for us though, if he does well Chelsea will either want him back or want a fortune for him.

That said, given that we're in this - not desperate for a striker, but would maybe benefit from some extra firepower - kind of position, it may suit all parties.

We certainly need some back up for Jiminez and Abraham would certainly be a better option than Bonatini right now.

There's the added bonus of course that we could properly screw up Villa's season as well.

Not sure a move to us right now would be the best move for him or Chelsea to be honest as he would generally be a bench player for us, i think he would be better served going elsewhere.

From our point of view though he wouldn't be a bad option for 5 months

Have to be looking at three points tonight but we have struggled in these home games generally.

would have Neves and Saiss in CM with Moutinho ahead of them with Cav(Jota if fit?) and Jimenez up front and would expect us to win with that line up.

I don't think Nuno will do that though and we will likely see a front three with Costa back.

I agree with Cinci, someone like Huddersfield I'd imagine he'd get starts most weeks would certainly help his progress, that said starting in a struggling fodder side or bench/rotation in a mid-table side that creates enough chances for him to score?

Just looking back on the goal that won the game for us at Crystal Palace in October. Shows this Wolves team at its best. Great tackle by Boly, through ball by Neves, good control and lay off by Jiminez, well finished by Docherty. Be good to see something like that again tonight

I remember being impressed by Abraham at Molineux when playing for Bristol City and I was hoping we might go after him then. Would be a lot more expensive now but I think he would be a great signing if Chelsea are up for selling him. Still only 21.

He offers an alternative to Jiminez or would give the alternative of playing 352 with two genuine strikers. I do think with new signings we need to stop thinking of 'if we sign him who would he replace' The issue is to get to having at least 20 players of genuine Premier League quality then we can have options A, B, C and be able to afford injuries and suspensions and maybe even have the squad to have a run in the League, FA and/or UEFA Cups. The more good players we have the more chance we have of getting even higher in the league.

I think we will see a 3-4-1-2 formation much more with two 'strikers' in our future.

Tonight will be a tough test for Nuno and the lads, as Palace are very well organized at the back.

I don't see a change from 3-4-3, especially as we're at home. Keep the ball wide and stretch their defence and we should come away with the points.

We need to be patient, as I think we'll come on strong in the second half. That's when we seem to score the vast majority of our goals right now. However, an early one would certainly settle the nerves.

Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny, Costa, Jimenez and Cavaliero for me.

I doubt Jota will start, even if fit, but hopefully he'll be on the bench.

I'd be going with the midfield two of Moutinho and Neves and a front three of Cav, Costa and Jiminez who all did well in that second half against SPurs.

Against teams like Palace we should be looking to control at a quicker tempo; like we did in the second half against Spurs. Its the only way we will break teams like this down, as they will be organised and get men behind the ball away from home.

When Saiss plays, he slows down the tempo we play at attacking wise when compared with Moutinho and Neves. Therefore I wouldn't really be considering him for a starting spot at home against a side below us.

Initially how I would have seen it Tam but think we are best now with Moutinho or MGW ahead of a midfield two.

Neves Moutinho
......mgw

Would work as well

That said I think he will go back to a 3-4-3 tonight and I don't have a problem with that so long as the forward perform

Nuno has become prone to a bit of tinkering of late, nothing would surprise me to be honest. The good thing is that we know both Saiss and Dendonker can come in and do a job if asked.
