We need a player who is proven at this level who is close to his prime. Players like that cost money. You can hear Hull making noises about keeping Bowen right now, but if you make them an offer they can't refuse, they will bite your hand off. Would he give us something we don't have? Yes. Would he fit in right away? What price would you put on him? Or a Harvey Barnes? Or a Bradley Dack? Because these are players who will improve our team and will increase in value when we get promotion. The quick fix option is short-sighted and undermines the amazing progress we are making under Bielsa. You can be sure that he will leave us if we do not make it into the Premier League. He is saying the right things about buying in players, in the public forum. Behind closed doors, he will be asking Radz, 'I'm doing my bit, what are you prepared to do?'

Great in his day but there is a reason why he is surplus at Bournemouth. We have three good strikers all better than him and in tune with Bielsa FM frequency.
