Wolves v Liverpool Match Preview [LIVE]

I hope we put out a really strong team and go for it. I think Liverpool are there for the taking after last nights defeat to City.

Surely if Fosun want to raise our profile, then these are the matches to prioritise?

I suspect both clubs will make a few changes to the team for this game, but that doesn't mean they won't want to win it. Coming hot on the heels of 4 Premier League games in less than 2 weeks, I think some rotation is inevitable.

Be good to see Dendoncker again, although he is being linked to a loan move to Roma. And there are players in our team that would benefit from a rest, particularly in my mind Doherty and Jiminez. In the Palace game quite a few looked lacking in energy though.

Agree that we should have a go at having a cup run though. We aren't in a relegation fight and if we can get past this difficult tie, we might go a long way in the competition.

Hoping Liverpool go full strength. We've a great chance of winning the cup but it's a tough first tie.

My guess for Liverpool line up:

--------------Mig
Clyne Lovren --VVD Moreno
----------Henderson
----keita ---------Lallana
--Shaq ----Studge ----Origi

Will be interesting to see how the two sides line up, a few of our guys need a rest and Im sure Liverpool will have players champing at the bit to get on the field.

Can see Doc getting a rest, maybe Jonny will switch sides and they'll give Vinagre a run on the left.

Good game to give Hause and Dendonker a run out too but also a possible indicator to their immediate futures if they dont.

Bonatini should get a start and would be good to see Ashley-Seal and/or Ennis on the bench.

Ruddy
Dendonker -- Coady -- Hause
Jonny ----------------- Vinagre
------------ Saiss - MGW
Traore ---- Bonatini ---- Jota (if fit)

Isn't Hause moving to Villa?

Seems to have been going on a while though, considering a fee was agreed early in the week.

I hope he does get the move though. He is a good player but needs to be playing every week at his age. He is never going to do that here.

I saw somewhere that Villa were hoping to have Hause signed by the weekend. So I don't think we will see him on Monday.

Yeah, defo needs to leave for his own good. Wouldn't be surprised if we loaned Bonatini out either and see a new arrival.

Surely Neves will play on Monday as he has had plenty of rest of late after his ban for one game and dropped for two.

Think we will see Neves and Dendoncker in the middle and MGW ahead of them with Traore and a lottery pick up front.

I hope Dendoncker plays. I think he looks good and he needs to get some time on the pitch.

I think we might regret it in the future if the rumours of us looking to move him on are true.

He certainly deserves some game time Tam, he came with a good reputation and can surely play. Only thing i would say is that he looks like he is carrying some timber, more than he should.

We have been linked with Wallace from Lazio

He's one of the Mendes clan.

This would be my guess

Ruddy
Saiss, Coady, Boly
Rasmussen, Neves, Dendoncker, Vinagre
Traore, Bonatini,Jota/MGW

Hause also getting linked with the Albion apparently. Not seen anything concrete on him moving, my thinking in him playing Monday is around the assumption that his transfer will get dragged out over the month. Could be wrong however.

Not sure that MGW would work wide left, he seems to be more effective in the central forward or midfield positions

We really don't have many options at the back, although both Dendonker and Saiss can play there. I don't see Coady wanting to be rested against his old club and maybe Boly needs a rest .

So a back 3 of Dendonker, Coady and Saiss would be my bet.

I'm sure one or more of our talented youngsters will get a start too.

Traore and Bonatini for sure up front and hopefully Jota will get game time if fit.

Agreed, depending on Jota's availability, I think it would be Traore, Bonatini and Jota as a front 3 or Traore and Bonatini as a front 2 with MGW behind them

For an article with the bold headline
"Liverpool FC's squad for the Wolves' FA Cup clash revealed"
There are an awful lot of "likely to start" "Could come in" and "Could get a run out" comments.
In short, absolute tosh to fill column inches

Wolves pocketed £12m today from the pre-agreed sale of Afobe to Stoke. Bet the potters wish they could have wriggled out of that one

Pure, unadulterated robbery. Not even Fat Jez could have negotiated that deal
