I thought it tried a bit too hard to be like the last of us, with a weaker storyline/character set
no problem with other people liking it, but i had to ditch it after a few days
purchased spiderman afterwards, enjoyed that far more
To be honest if it hasn't grabbed you at the start it probably isn't going to change.
although as you play you do unlock new abilities, so don't write it off just yet.
I enjoyed it well enough, but my list would be Detroit, Spiderman then GOW, in that order.
I couldn't get into it either. My brother liked it though.
Haven't played it, like yourself I've seen it for about £20 but I've played small parts of other GoW games and I found them incredibly dull even though they always get rave reviews. Hack n slash just isn't my thing.
Couldn't get into it really, but was a decent enough game. Just didn't find the combat that engaging.
Got it for Christmas and played it for the first time last night. Thought it was alright to be fair, but only put about and hour and a half into it so far.
I think the biggest issue will be that the last game I played was RDR2, so whatever comes next is always going to be disappointing.

That is very true!
Agree Tamwolf, that’s probably why I feel this way towards it
All a matter of opinion, I suppose.
I'm unashamedly a massive geek and loved GoW; think it rightly won GOTY. Probably my second favourite PS4 game behind Bloodborne (assuming that TLOU is a PS3 game).
Conversely, I just cannot get into RDR2. I think it is a masterpiece in mechanics and game design, however, some parts of it seem superfluous and too long-winded, for me.
Perhaps once I get some time off of work, these are the minutiae I will come to love it for, however, at the moment, it is not a game I can just dip into for 30 mins - an hour; seems to require a good 3-4 hour stint to really enjoy it.
That is one of the brilliant things about Spider-Man: you can start-up the PS4 and enjoy even just 10 mins of action before real life sadly drags you back
If they made Spider-Man genuinely difficult in terms of gameplay mechanics (i.e. more untoward a Souls, Bloodborne, GoW level), I think that might be my favourite. Completely different genre of game, though, so a fool's hope.
And there you have it. A game will never appeal to everyone. I accept Detroit will not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it.
The same will be true of GOW, RDR, etc all very different games. variety is the important thing.
I think the thing you are seeing with games like GOW, TLOU and RDR is some fantastic story telling to go along with the gameplay. They are better than films for it these days.
I think it really does rest on what game you had played previously. I enjoyed RDR2 a hell of a lot so I think the transition to God of War which is a completely different game as most would know has made me not enjoy it as much as I perhaps should.
I’m gonna stick with it but I do regret choosing it over AC Origins.
I will buy Spider-Man in the near future for certain
Raptor if that’s the case maybe you’d enjoy GoW a lot more if you until RDR2 isn’t so fresh in your memory
Happened to me a few times, couldn’t get into a game cause I was still hungover from the previous game I played, but eventually came back to it and really enjoyed it.

Maybe I’ll just sack it off and play Fifa for a month or two then go back to it and start again. The premise of the story is to bury the ashes of wife/mum top of the mountain but the story got sidestepped somewhat and I lost interest.
When I completed Uncharted4 I picked up a copy of Doom in Sainsbury’s as it was only a tenner. Played it for about 10 minutes, then never went back.
Think I played Doom after playing Bloodborne for months and it just did nothing for me. Came back to it a couple of months later and ended up loving it to bits, one of my favourite games now.
Yeah I should go back to Doom as well tbf. King of first person shooters that series. Loved the originals on the PC back in the 90s.
I tried to play Dark Souls 3 immediately after getting the double-secret ending on Bloodborne and the slow-down in combat gameplay crushed any desire I had for it.
Ironically, the only reason I bought Bloodborne in the first place was because I loved Demons Souls and DS1 & 2 so much.
Completely agree with Randomer that it is probably the best course of action to take a little break before playing it - maybe switch to something entirely different like an indie game or racer - then head back to it with a fresh mind.

I bought doom and it sat on my shelf for 8 months before i played it.
I wacked it on nightmare mode and powered through it and can honestly say its one of the best games ive ever played on the ps4.
It is absolutely awesome in every way.
If you like a challenge, play nightmare mode.
The new doom is out this year too.
Also God of war.
I bought it for 22 quid on the ps store over Christmas. Bought it at the same time as horizon zero dawn.
I'll play GoW after im done with horizon.
Gonna put GoW back on the shelf and fire up Doom and try it on Nightmare then

It's very hard but persevere through the beginning and it just gets awesome... In my opinion
It's insane action
Is Horizon Zero Dawn worth a purchase? I fancy something fun and haven't got the time to put into RDR2!
From what I've seen it looks like a great game, but does it keep your interest? And is it too similar to FC 4 / 5?
I’ve not played it myself Notso but heard it’s very good and up there with the best releases of the past 2 years.
What was FC5 like? Loved 3 and 4, didn’t bother with Primal.

The game is huge.
Ive put about 10 hours into it and im about 30% through - i do a fair few side missions too.
I work a lot and can play here and there and still enjoy it.
I don't know how it got such amazing reviews, perhaps im not far enough into the story but its quite good. Looks lovely on ps4 pro on a nice 4k tv.
I do enjoy seeing remnants of the 'old world' (as in our present time) in complete ruins though and some of the scenery is well nice.
Story is interesting enough. Its like the movie terminator, but centuries into the future after the war.
