Well with respect Anfield I think I know more about Neves than you do, and I have never been convinced by the Prem argument.

The ball could have a major effect on the way he plays, Ironically Pep complained last season about the ball when we played them in the cup.

there is no argument a ball can affect passing etc, which is Neves game.

If he's not good enough to get used to a different ball though after 7 months of using them every day in training and for matches, then maybe he's not really as good as you thought?

There are Youtubers out there that can hit perfect free kicks/set pieces and long shots knocking things off walls etc, they probably have a favourite ball to use too.

Maybe he should take that up instead.

I think it's a combination of things, as well as the ball. Getting used to the ball when it comes to hitting free kicks is one thing but the other aspect, such as long passes, should have improved by now.

He is 21 and people are talking like he's a player that failed to reached his peak. He'll do better next season and the year after.

Vastly overrated player from what I have seen.

He's very tidy on the ball and has a good work rate in CM, seems a good all rounder with a great pass on him.

But, would he have been talked about in the way he was prior to this season without the 4 or 5 highlight reel goals? Were his performances THAT good or were the odd goal of the month contenders what got him noticed?

I would like to see more of him next season when he's had a year in the PL before judging.

Well that is up there with Pep's 'wrong type of ball' and Klopp's 'it was windy out there' statements.

No doubt Neves has not been as clinical from set pieces this season, getting a free kick around the box last season was as good as a penalty. Everton apart, he's been dreadful from those situations this term but last night he did show what he's capable of and I hope it will give him the confidence he's lacked recently.

His performances were that good. He was unreal last season. It wasn't just his goals, his range of passing was also immense.

As a team, we seem to be playing within ourselves at the moment and playing at a lower tempo than last season when we controlled games. I think that has made it more difficult for players like Neves to have as a big an impact.

It certainly can make a difference to him striking the ball and he said after the game that the prem needs to change to Mitre(jokingly but probably with some truth).

Central midfield is about partnerships as much as anything and how they complement each other and Saiss had a big impact on how Neves played last season and now this season Neves has had to adapt to playing mostly alongside Moutinho.

He is 21 as well, people forget he is still that young.

I don't think the people playing around him would affect his range of passing or accuracy, which was a hallmark of his play last season.

He would most certainly be overated if he continues with the inconsistent form he has shown this season. But Wolves fans know what he is capable of, if he can hit those heights again, everyone will sit up and take notice.

(A bit like your shower then, from what I have seen.)

It's no different from going to a casey in the back garden to one of those garage bought jobs on the way to the beach. I managed to adapt, so why can't Neves?

All you have to do with these Prem balls is aim it 90 degrees to where you want it to end up. With garage bought jobs you have to aim it 180 degrees to where you want it to end up.

Boom - top corner every time

Why the brackets bro ?

Bring back the big old heavy leather balls with laces. In the rain it was like kicking a medicine ball. Boots too, the ones with long laces that tied around your ankles and had a toe cap and studs that were nailed in.

Hang on a minute...I think I'm showing my age.

If it’s taken Neves 5 months to get used to a different ball then he is clearly over rated. His comment about the ball was a joke, nothing more.

He was sensational last night, best player on the field by a mile. Made more passes than anyone on the field, had a 92% success rate, and a high proportion of those passes were 30 yards plus. Wolves made a mistake making the tickets full price for the game but to me it’s worth every penny to see him play for Wolves
