Gutted. Fave player.

I think it makes sense financially, but will be a shame to see him go like this - would have liked to give him some kind of a sendoff. While his impact in terms of goals and assists was often criticised, some of his play with the ball at his feet was worth paying the entrance money for alone. He could glide effortlessly past a whole midfield, turn a defender on a sixpence, and was so strong in the tackle.

Thanks Moussa, you beast, you'll be missed!

Dembele hasn`t played this season, and frankly has not been missed. His better days are long behind him now.

Yep, 11m for someone that isn't needed is ok

Sad to see Dembele leave the PL.

A great player and always destroyed our midfield whenever we played you

tbf, Cant remember many midfields getting the better of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reminded me of an on form Abou Diaby.

Tbf he’s played in half of the league games. He’s needed just for depth he gives us.

Winks
Dier
Sissoko
Skipp

CM is the one position we really need additions.

We are already short in CM so I hope we have a replacement lined up!! I doubt we do though so we may have facked ourself.

That said, he is totally unreliable due to injuries.

I wish him well. Class player

Hopefully Dembele leaving will be the push Levy/ Poch needs to sign a new CM. I don't say this about many players but given Dembele's injury record and recent decline we could be better off with a replacement here.

Wanyama needs to regain his form as does Dier. IF all can get fit Dier Winks Skipp Sissoko Wanyama..not great but not too bad.

£11m is a great deal but I’d still wouldn’t take it personally.

Keeping him until the summer would give us a better chance of winning something and getting top4 than it does without him.

You know we won’t replace him and it’ll leave us short
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming he’s fit enough to play again by the end of the season?

In that case this is probably our last chance to get some money for him. I guess it all depends if/ when we get a replacement in how this will be viewed. Or if we can get the rest of our players at CM back to form and fitness.

I still get left with a feeling that Dembele never reached his full potential. he should have assisted and scored more. great player though. He used to launch our attacks by beating his man.

Not good enough for me and certainly not a title winning bunch of midfielders right now. Need a solid replacement for Dembele this window. Skipp could be the future but he’s not the answer right now.

It really is astonishing that Pochettino has got to 3rd with this group of players in the most important area of the pitch

Farewell Mousa really liked him, but this is great news because we will replace him with someone who doesn’t get injured every few games and will benefit the squad/team moving forward.

Will we Muswell ? We signed no one last window, what makes you trust Levy to sign this window ?

I would be in complete shock if we go two windows with any signings, particularly as we seem to have a injury problem this year were still in 4 competitions and Levy seriously needs to back poch what with the mancs sniffing about.

It's not even that I don't rate the players. Sissoko, Winks and Dier all have their qualities (time will tell with Skipp).

But even taking them at their best, if you compare those three to any other midfield at a top side in Europe... yeesh. They're just not in the same class, on paper at least.

I suppose Eriksen has been supplementing the midfield by playing a bit deeper, too - that kinda brings the average up a bit

the BBC report says:

"Chairman Daniel Levy is keen to trim players from manager Mauricio Pochettino's squad."

Really? What do they have to support this wild claim?

I'd understand if they drew the conclusion that the injury prone, declining force of nature that is Dembele has just 6 months on his contract and his importance to the squad has diminished over time, and thus £11m represents excellent business for the 31 year old. But their statement goes way beyond this in to the realms of BS.

Goes to show that even the BBC now stoop to the levels of all the other click-bait website with unsubstantiated statements passed off as fact.

Surely we would not weaken our squad, raising funds, and not reinforce!

To quote Platoon. We need every swinging dicck in the field and you know that!

Agreed, I still think more will go GKN, Janssen and Wanyama can do one and replace them with one or two players that actually bring something to the table.

Sad to see him go but sadder knowing that he's past his best.

He is not going to be the only one leaving this window. Seeing as we'll be doing diddley squat in terms of bringing anyone in, I hope we're not risking weakening ourselves too much when Wanyama etc. go as well, when we've got lots of big games to play.

As long as Toby isn't sold. Be a travesty if he was.
