I have not been too concerned about this transfer window so far, but we are more than a week in and I;m starting to wonder.

The season has been excellent, make no mistake.

Bielsa is a genius and we are massively fortunate to have him at the helm.

However, I think we’re now on very, very thin ice. Recruitment in this window will make or break us.

Baker is no loss, but it is another question mark regarding Orta's effectiveness in market.

Means we have nothing on the bench in central midfield.

Leaves us with; Klich, who looks shattered and is out of form, and Forshaw, who’s just bang average.

Dipping back into the U23’s to fill our match day squad until Phillips is back.

Yeah, but Baker was having no impact at all, I'd rather try and u23 player.

Fair enough. Personally don’t think he was quite that bad. He had a good game earlier in the season against Swansea I think it was.

Just find it alarming the rate at which we are losing players.

It's really all down to how much risk the club want to take in getting into debt to fund the quality players that could make a difference.

Won’t get a better chance than this. Top of the league with 18 games to go.

I donT get the history repeating itself line.

We have never really been at these dizzy heights as far as I can remember.

This is by far our best shot. I agree with Jonty there is a balance here. If we don’t have much money, I would steer clear of a panic expensive buy.

More logical would be someone maybe out of contract in the summer who may be on a cheap. Or a quality loan to buy type signing.

The fact is we are top of the league. We are on the up. We have a coach hugely admired and a feel good factor at the club.

Twice before, under Grayson and Monk, we were right in the promotion race. We failed to strengthen in January and we faded away.

With the squad as it is right now, if any one of BPF, Roofe, Jansson, Douglas or Hernandez get injured, we are in trouble.

I make comments and I am called a wum .Its defo crucial that we make some quality signings or forget about promotion it's as simple as that it's now or never.

I saw mention of a rumor earlier today that Douglas has a long term injury.

Has some sort of muscular injury but I didn’t think it was serious? Haven’t seen a lot about it to be honest.

Yorkie, I'm not a big fan of spending riskily.

We've already done that in Bielsa and its really paying off, would be a real shame to not finish the job, give his system the quality it needs, not Bakers on loan, or Harrisons on loan, but a quality player that hits the ground running, maybe even 2 of them.

They might get injured straight away, they might just not work out for us, but that normally happens cos we bring in crap, bring in some quality and that is a risk worth taking that could be rewarded in just a few months time.

Its now that we see AR's real appetite for the task at hand.

I find it interesting that it's "Chelsea recalling Baker".

They have no use for a player of his calibre, which makes me wonder if he's asked his parent club to go back or if our club just wanted to avoid saying we don't want him to spare his blushes?

Chelsea review their loaned players in January, and reshuffle accordingly. They know we aren’t signing him in the summer as we aren’t even playing him.

Shifting him somewhere else means they may get a fee in the summer.

Who is available that's (a) better than what we have and (b) we can afford i.e in the £0-£10m price band?
I can't see anyone to be honest. And if there is anyone, why are they available at this time?

We see the same excuses every time January rolls round.

Other teams strengthen, Leeds stagnate.

Donn, it would be nice if you occasionally made positive noises, I think that's what hacks people off, the dripping tap nature of your posts.

Chelsea is a ridiculous club. The amount of players they have out on loan. And the backlog of players stalled from getting anywhere near first team. I know others are as bad. If one of those players was my lad I'd tell him to do what Jadon Sancho did - get the fook out and play.

I’m starting to get the customary wobbly tummy that I get every season when it all starts to unravel during the second half of the season. With 3 losses in a row, is this the start of the decline? OR will the club be sensible and bring in the minimum of 3 good quality players that we currently need? and, if they do, will my faith be restored that this is our promotion season? If we beat Derby (and without Phillips it will be difficult) I may just start to have a little bit of faith restored. If we lose again those collywobbles will get even worse.
It has been hard being a Leeds fan these last 15 years or so and I really don’t think I could bare it if we miss out this time after such an exciting and promising first half of the season. I really hope the club don’t let the fans down. They must at least replace the 3 players we have lost, with hopefully better players, to give us any chance to compete in the second half of the season and gain promotion.

When I look at the situation now I can get over how much not bringing in Holgate on loan was a wasted chance.

Holger on loan covers centreback and means Phillips doesn't have to play there if one of our centre back gets injured.

It also means that right back is covered as we would have him and Ayling able to play there.

When Berardi is back you have really good coverage at the back

Add to that you are able to move Shackleton into midfield where he normally plays

It would have been a very good solution

We now need three new signings. A goalkeeper winger and central midfield. Club is making it harder than it has to be. Get these positions addressed now please.

They did it before with izzy brown. They called him back from Rotherham and sent him to Huddersfield. There plan is to get him playing well for someone in the hope they get a fee for him.

Need signings in soon

Lot of people talking about how the club has messed up not gettting Holgate in to cover right back and centre half.

Has no one thought that West Brom could have offered a much better chance of starting and that’s why he is there. We wouldn’t want to be promising he starts for us when we have Cooper Jansson and Ayling fit.
