Yes that is very true, but hopefully one day the reports will confound us by actually being correct

I think part of the problem in the summer was the fact that no one left, therefore there was no room for others to join.

Werner wont be interested in the slightest of sitting on the bench every game. Spurs need a Giroud type player.

^unless we will sign another Son type player who could get into the team as a wide forward or a CF

Nah I think your right second point is right. If we are signing a new forward they have to be able to play more than one position. Barring that we could always clone Son.

I think for a number 9 striker then Spurs are probably the least attractive club in the world right now.

Unless he agitates for a move (and he's shown no sign thus far) then Kane will be the Spurs striker for the next 5-8 years. Werner's good but he's never going to oust Kane so it's effective a bench and league cup role. Not very appealing.

You basically need to find your own version of Solsjaer - very good goalscorer who is happy playing from the bench.

I can’t claim to have watched RBL that much but watched a couple of games after I found out we were signing Keita, Werner didn’t look like a winger to me. Looked like a centre forward who was comfortable drifting out wide to find space - bit like Henry used to (albeit not as good obviously).

Maybe I just watched the wrong games though.

I think the Kane situation is exactly the reason why Eriksen must be resigned. Even when Kane has missed time.... The axis of Son, Dele, Eriksen , Lamela & Moura is more than capable & interchangable to provide goals.... We are crying out for a proper ball playing central midfielder.... I don't think Winks is the answer, Sissoko is a squad player & Dier is a DM/CB hybrid.

We need CMs not attackers

I agree. Don’t really care whether it’s Kessie, Doucoure or whoever but a box to box midfielder should be our no1 priority.

Need a box to box and a playmaker

Or a hybrid. Dier will be good having back, can play in winks current role who has been poor of late. Dier is limited but offers a bit of leadership and metal
